I have had my diabetes monitored for two years and the hb1ac level has been borderline so no treatment was OK'd by the doctor.

I have tested by meter morning and 3 times pre and post every day for three weeks. By diet adjustment (removing most carbs) my three meals readings are stable and acceptable with the readings getting better as the day progresses.

The problem is the fasting blood sugar level which has been between 6.8 and 8.6 every morning.

I would like to hear anyone else's experience and observation. I am 76 and I have steadily lost weight as my diet has become more focused.

Hiya. I see just over a year ago you asked
why some people have faulty readings when doing a home blood sugar test if their equipment is stored upstairs in the bathroom and they climb the stairs which releases more blood sugar before doing the self test?
Are you moving around a lot before your FBS reading? Is it the dawn dump?
You're doing so well, keep it up.
PS I'm 74 and lost weight while still eating carbs. When I cut the carbs and upped the fat I stabilised. I am thin.
