Amoxicillan and increase sugar levels

I have a cut on my leg which has got infected, my doctor has put me on to amoxicillin, and blood thinners, This morning my blood sugar was very high (9.7).

This is strange as I've had no appetite for the past coup[le of days - so expected it to be low - is this the infection, or the antibiotics or a combination of both causing this, or is it something else?

Because my leg is badly swollen I have not been able to take any exercise for a few days, could this have an affect.

Sorry to hear about your leg infection hope it heals quickly.
The infection will cause your blood sugars to rise as will lack of exercise so a double whammy.

Also as you havnt been eating you could also be getting liver dumps, do you think you could stomach some soup every now and then. Do take it easy and try not to worry about your BS as stressing out wont help.
