    Lentils

    I don't use the dried lentils as are they are too windy for me. But the tinned ones are fine. I just reheat them a little and they are great.

    Homemade Advent Calendar?

    I gave my husband his very first (he's 33) advent calendar yesterday! :P I got it from Next and its a tree shape, with 24 wooden drawers to add your own treats! Yesterday he got a dried apricot and today some spicy nuts! :lol: He's very excited about tomorrow already!! :D

    Chips from the chippy?!?

    All that above aside, Are you carb counting your battered/breadcrumbed fish as well? As the batter will contain flour which is ~70g CHO per 100g. My husband loves fish and chips, so as a treat I buy them from the supermarket instead of the chippy, as calculating the carbs is so much easier!

    I've just discovered Tesco's pre soaked tinned green lentils. They need lots of flaovurs adding (curry pastas etc) to them, but they are 10-15g/100g CHO. Unsoaked ones are about 70g/100g CHO. My husband has had jet lag over the last few days so his blood sugar has been all over the place...

    I miss bread!

    Have you tried Burgen bread, its made with soya flour and normal wholemeal. Its 10g CHO per slice. All the major supermarkets sell it. Also Nairns oat biscuits are 4g CHO per biscuit. I'm not sure which diet you are on, but these might be an option for you.

    Gnocchi (sp?)
