    Peanuts are not advised by several prominent doctors like Dr. Bernstein, Dr. Perlmutter and even Dr. Mercola. They are high carb and they definitely send bgs levels up, albeit after a while. Peanuts are NOT nuts, but legumes.

    Read the following book : "What your Doctor doesn't know about Nutritional Medicine may be Killing you" by Dr. Ray Strand. The book certainly makes a strong case for at least considering supplements/nutrients.

    I have heard of very bad after effects of Sitagliptin. Not quite as bad as Avandia, though. Please check it out.

    When to test

    Thanks, Rod. But, what if someone takes 45 mins to eat lunch ? Does he still test 120 mins after starting to eat & just 75 mins after he finishes eating ? The difference in results could be quite significant.

    Is the testing done 2 hrs after you start to eat or 2 hrs after you finish eating ? Some might finish eating in 10/15 mins, while others might take 30/45 mins. Which is the correct testing time or are both OK ?
