    Parking fine...treating hypo!!!

Brunerria is absolutely right. Unfortunately cars parked on private land will be ticketed once they have outstayed there welcome. Whether you were legally fit to drive the car at the time you should have left is irrelevant.

    Abscesses stomach

Thanks guys. I have to be honest and say on the very rare occasions I have reused a needle. Stopped doing that after the first abscess though. I always do the stomach as I find it's the most convenient place to inject when your at work

    Abscesses stomach

Hi everyone, I've been type 1 for nearly 3 years now and mainly inject in the stomach(bolus), rotating the spot as much as possible. In the last 6 months I've had an abscess appear and get treated and now have another one on the other side. I was previously given fluoxcilian to clear the...

Exercise , blood sugar levels and Freestyle libre.

My understanding of this, is light cardio like walking simply causes my bloods to drop. More intensive exercise makes them rise. I believe this is your body recognising the more intensive exercise and trying to feed your cells with energy (glycogen) obviously as a type 1 it can't do anything...

    Constant hunger

I'm pretty sure I was the same when I first went on insulin and I'm almost certain one of the main causes is dosage being too high. Might be worth checking your Basal ?

    Dexcom G5 vs libre

Thanks - when you say it changes after 7 days, do you mean it becomes more or less accurate. If it becomes more accurate does this mean it isn't accurate for the first 7 days ?

    Dexcom G5 vs libre

Hi All, I've been using the libre since it launched and find it overall a good bit of kit, despite its niggles and occasional issues. Now I am thinking about getting a Dexcom G5 as I like the idea of the alerts to your smart phone /device, rather than manually scanning. I know the cost is...

    Freestyle Libre

Sleep on both sides so nothing related to that. There shouldn't be a difference but there is. My theory, going back to the trauma side of things again is I think your arm must get used to the device going in. I take it out and put it straight back in the same spot again rather than applying it...

    Freestyle Libre

Hi, well I put the sensor on the back of the upper arms exactly as Abbott tell you too -never done anything different. I used to wear one on the left for 2 weeks, then rotate to the right for 2 weeks and so on...What I started finding though after loads of sensor changes was that the left arm...

    Freestyle Libre

Hi I've had the libre since it launched (so being using it for approximately 20 months) the readings can be slightly behind (10-15 mins) when rapidly changing . The first 24-48 hours can be slightly out so bear with it. The biggest thing I have found is I now put my sensor in the same spot on...

    Omeprazole

No not done anything like that... Doctor is useless ! Can't decide what else it can be. I am injecting insulin like its going out fashion and still stay high ?!

    Omeprazole

Hi guys Quite a specific question but here goes... I have recently been prescribed Omeprazole tablets from the doctors for what is believed to be a potential stomach ulcer. I've noticed since taking the tablets that my blood sugars are acting very strangely - I simply can't get them down and...

    Drinking and diabetes

I find I always go up with lager, which is pretty obvious as its full of carbs. Against all diabetic advise I inject 4 units for a few beers and it stops me going sky high. Don't usually drop in the night but everyone is different so take caution

    Weight gain and insulin

Hi guys Does anyone know the answer to this ? Is your body likely to gain weight if you are injecting more insulin ?

    Exercise and rising blood sugar

Hi thanks for that , it's really useful. How long before do you inject ?

    Exercise and rising blood sugar

Thanks - that's what I think I need to do. Essentially the body is craving insulin to release the glucose from your blood stream. A non diabetic would throw insulin out to deal with it so I theory I should inject. The thought of doing it however is a little more concerning ! ;)

    Exercise and rising blood sugar

Hi thanks for the reply. It is defiantly the first - I have a libre so I know that. My body is dumping glucose out to support the exercise I am doing. I think the food and insulin combo might be an idea

Yes worth a try I suppose. Thanks
