    Dexcom G6 NHS funding challenge

Like many of you, who use G6 paired to a funded Tslim CIQ pump, you'll have been told that certain 'well controlled' users have to fund the sensors themselves....the simple fact is well controlled is largely because of the pump and sensor, and resulting in lower NHS costs through less...

    TSlim and driving/kayaking

Whenever I drive my BG's increase like I'm sure others do. previous pump was medtronic and was easy to increase background by say 30%. TSLIM not so easy. Its a bit of a faff and on short trips find sleep mode helps but if BGs increase too much it doesn't do corrections so need to keep an eye...

    DEXCOM on prescription

Hi All, So Dexcom is now available on prescription in the UK right? So why am I still being charged and my useless CCG is following old guidelines (ie not available)? Is it worth going through my GP for funding? Has anyone had any success to get switched to funded Dexcom sensors? £159 a month...

Dexcom and lack of phone app updates

Hi I've had the Samsung S22 Ultra for 2 months and still the app can't be used on this device to check G6 readings and more importantly download data to clarity. I find this pretty poor when any other app can ready their services for new devices. AND I'm paying for this....

    Lyumjev

Anyone using this in a pump in the UK? I'm on FIASP and find it great if I'm in a range of 4.5 to 12 but anything higher seems to take an age to come down. Then crash later! This new one is the fastest with a shorter run off. thanks

    Anyone self funding on medtronic?

I've just changed my pump to a tandem slim iq. It's awesome and loving the integration with dexcom (not loving the self funding of it!). I have some consumables left over from the medtronic. I have 3ml reservoir mmt332a 1 new box and a few from previous pack and mmt965a 1 new box. Please pm me...

    DVLA are a PITA

3 year renewal came up. Last time it took me 6 years to get my license back which involved independent Eye Specialists (as booked by DVLA) and finally an RDAC driving assessment (booked by them at my request). This swung it in my favour and was renewed. This time I prepared; booked and paid...

Anyone know whether Dexcom will go like Libre Lifestyle on script? I need to change pump and fancy the T-Slim closed loop on Dexcom.

Which new pump as a 4 year replacement

Hi My pump is due for renewal. Currently use the medtronic 640g. I also use Libre Lifestyle 2 funded by NHS. Options offered are medtronic again. Medtrume - but looks too big and cumbersome. I might look at the Nano when its out in August but fear the insulin wont last more than 2 days max...

    Keep hitting blood

Hi folks been on pumps for about 14 years but for last few months seem to hit a lot of capillaries which means absorption is slow / non existent. I use the shortest medtronic minimed quicksets 6mm. Any tips to avoid? Doing my nut in. Medtronic sent a new applicator which made no difference. I...

Long term diabetes and foot problems

Hi I've had t1 for 40+ years. Generally well controlled or best I can. But today had an electronic sensitivity test on my big toes. One was twice as bad as the other. I walked between 2-5 miles most days and more at the weekend. Question.... Are these foot massagers any good? Or the revitive...

    Covid vaccine and highers bgs?

Hi folks I recently changed from fiasp back to apidra as I was finding fiasp **** at reducing higher bgs over 11.5. Since going back I've struggled for a couple of weeks to get my bgs under control and yesterday had the Pfizer jab. Now it seems worse! Is everyone else finding the jab has caused...

    FIASP users on pumps

Hi I've just started on Fiasp from Apidra in a pump. I'm delighted with how quickly it works and thinking about taking it AFTER a meal! But I am feeling low quite soon after and I appear to need LESS insulin both basal and bolus. Have you found the same thing? I don't want to reduce basal...

    FIASP users on pumps

Hi how are users of FIASP getting on? I'm having lots of issues with extended highs (up to 13/14 post meal for up to 5 hours) and when I add extra boluses they are pretty ineffective for long periods and then of course I am low later in the day. Trying to pre bolus meals but little effect more...

    Plantar Orthotics needed!

Hi folks, Since fracturing my third metatarsal a few years back (nothing heroic - I jumped off a climbing frame and it cracked - 40 years old and should have known better!), I've suffered heel pain on and off. Have used various insoles including having a bulky set made by the NHS that don't...

Noctura 400 - help with getting a custom mask

Hi for those who have or are considering buying the noctura 400, the mask I found sits directly on my closed eyeballs and can be uncomfortable (in my case). I've tried both masks but feel some customisation or different masks are required. Something like thicker padding inserts... Like the kind...

    I keep hitting blood capillaries

... Which means I get poor insulin absorption and ending up waking to stupidly high and unexpected bg's. Is it worth trying shorter sets? Thanks Paul

    Sport coolmax t shirt

Hi On the medtronic site they sell a coolmax t shirt which looks ideal when cycling as it has 4 pockets for the pump. However, they want £46.50+ for just one! Anyone found anything elsewhere which is good as a thin breathable under clothing with pockets? I have a waist band but do not like it!
