    I have the same problems with metformin what I did was break them in half and only Just about manageable just to see if your body adjusts to it them increase your dose if your body will let you

    generally they are lower before lunch and then a rise of between 1. & 2. Higher after 1 hour then back to normal before dinner after dinner is a bit erratic dependant on what time I eat and of course what I eat

    thanks for that, so with them currently running at around 12 mmol I am about 25 to 30% down with 5 weeks to go before my next hba1c test hopefully that will come down even more

    i agree entirely, but when your hba1c is 111 you cut out all chocolate and sweets and increase carbs to compensate only to find 4 weeks later that it is higher, no explanation except "your Pancreas is probably packing up you made need insulin, but for now just double your meds from 2 to 4...

    oh and also when I went to see the dietican and told her of my eating on atypical day she said that what I was eating meant the odd double bounty bar would not do me any harm if I only treated myself once or twice a week

    Just worked out a normal days food intake before joining this forum average 300g + of carbs and that is conservative My surgery has a lot to answer for as it would seem a lot of surgeries do
