    Type 1 Binge eating disorder

It's funny really because it's never crossed my mind to try to just stay where I am, weight wise. I guess it's sad that I've never really thought of accepting and loving my body as it is, I'm always looking to lose some weight by Xmas, or for that wedding or whatever it may be, and of course...

    Type 1 Binge eating disorder

Yeah it's such hard work to be mentally battling with so much every day. That's the worst part for me. Wanting to lose some weight because it'll be better for my health / possible pregnancy not too far in the future and figuring out the best way to do that. I know slimming groups work for me...

    Type 1 Binge eating disorder

This is definitely something I will start doing. I've not thought of doing this before but will prove do be very helpful. I guess I'm so used to recording numbers and food that I've never given much thought to my feelings etc. Thank you :)

    Type 1 Binge eating disorder

Thank you for your reply, I've been on a 'unhelpful eating behaviours' course a year or so ago which was helpful to some extent but of course wasn't tailored for diabetes specifically. I've been to see a nhs diabetes psychologist fairly recently but only for a few sessions. I tend to be in a...

Reference books for low carb diet

Thanks guys :) Have been mostly modifying my usual healthy meals but having cauli rice instead of normal rice etc. Got on the scales this morning and I'm 5lb down in as many days so I'm really happy with that. Having lost 3.5 stone on slimming world I've been struggling to get this last 1.5...

Reference books for low carb diet

Thanks all for your help. Unfortunately pretty much since diagnosis 15 years ago I've pretty much been left to it apart from the odd carb counting course - it's only now I've really accepted this needs to be a way of life for me. Have been in denial I guess though have managed not bad HbA1c's...

Hi guys, So I've done so much studying of the various threads on low carb diets on here this weekend and am really keen to introduce this way of eating into my life - good news! I have seen somewhere amongst all the posts recommended info books on such diets for diabetics but can't for the...

There's more of us out there?!

Oh yeah carbs & cals has been a firm favourite of mine for the past few years now! I think I'm getting there with the control - understanding it's me who needs to change it and it's not gonna happen on its own - and me sitting on my ass eating too much **** food and miscalculating my insulin...

    Lantus causing bruises?

I've rarely bruise and been using it for at least 6 years now - but used to struggle really badly with intense stinging. Have found injecting slowly and in my bum or legs stops this - I never inject in arms or belly with lantus now. Hope everyone's advice has helped :)

You know sometimes you're sat at home on a Friday night celebrating the fact 5/6 readings have been single figures today and wondering what your life is, haha. Small victories

There's more of us out there?!

Thank you for your 'hellos' :) I've had a little browse through the T1 conversations along with many others - there's so much info on them all its a little overwhelming but I'm definitely in the right place!

There's more of us out there?!

Hi guys!! So I've been T1 for 14 years now, injecting 4 times daily for the past 6 years or so and lately my control has been hit and miss. It's only recently occurred to me to look for some forums / blogs to see if there are any fellow diabetics to talk to and share stories with - and it...
