    Lumpy tum

The needles come in different gauges, to minimize pain and discomfort choose the smallest gauge compatible with the needle lenght. As far as I know the smallest gauge is 30G. Gauges and needle length The measurements of needles relate to how long the needle is. When a needles measurement is...

    Overnight highs

Hi Pinewood, that's *exactly* what happens to me as well. I'm on Lantus and Tresiba + Eversense CGM. I've tried tweaking Tresiba but to no avail. The only thing that works for me is to fast for two-three days then start again with my normal routine. The explanation I give myself (which might...

How not to fart on low carb ???

I never eat legumes now due to their effect on BG, but I used to and my wife not being diabetic still does; she adds the kombu alga to the legumes while they're cooking and this does the trick. no gas at all. now that I think of it it's not true I don't eat legumes. In this time of the year it...

    Freestyle Libre and sport

No, I actually am experiencing problems with the sensors. I am quite hairy, plus I sweat a lot (hey stop laughing now...) so the combination of the two factors isn't really helping... Next sensor, I'll shave the spot to make it adhere more, but I will give a try to 1abRat system as well...

    Freestyle Libre and sport

Hi all, I've recently started using the Freestyle Libre, and I am very very happy about it. the only issue I have is how to make the sensor stick to the arm when I sweat profusely - tipically during a workout or a run. Do you guys have any suggestion? thanks in advance Emiliano

    Snacks

Beef jerky is very good but too many proteins can have side effects plus they raise BG. Pemmican than is way better even if a bit labour intensive to prepare

    Cold feet...

Thanks to all, the situation has luckily gotten better. Got my feet checked and they're ok. Numbness has gone, and so has the cold feeling. I feel a bit stupid but probably all this was due to a pair of boots I bought exactly when all this started... didn't think about it in the beginning...

HIT (high intensity interval training) - anyone getting benefits?

yes, only thing I'm not sure about is the quality of the performance. As I said I am very slow and have a "tourist" attitude towards running, I don't even have a watch to keep my time. Probably this radical zero carbs approach couldn't work in competitive running or for somebody who's working to...

HIT (high intensity interval training) - anyone getting benefits?

That's interesting. In my case it works a bit differently: when I am in a decent shape and zero carboing I can run to my limit (let's say four hours) without any CHO's, I just prepare myself a mixture of coconut flour\coconut oil\almonds and eat some of that every hour or so but I can do without...

    Cold feet...

My Hba1c has never been higher than 7.4% since I got diagnosed. The point is that the foot is not swollen, it just feels like it. They're both kinda numb, not in a painful way. in italy we describe this sensation as the limb being "asleep", like when you sit with your legs crossed for a while...

    Cold feet...

No. I had my feet checked just once a loong time ago. anyway I called my diabetologist and she said it is very very very unlikely that it's diabetes related because of my good control. so I'm a bit relieved, but I still have to find out what it is....

    Cold feet...

Hi all, just a quick one. In the last month I often get cold feet, and sometimes they get slightly numb. Plus I'm under the impression that my right foot has "grown" in the last period; I mean I feel like my right shoe is too tight. I've been T1 for seven years now and my a1c has always been...

HIT (high intensity interval training) - anyone getting benefits?

here's my experience: during the week I usually do a couple of HIIT-ish trainings (on the treadmill, 15 mins warm up, 20 mins HIIT - 1,5 mins walking\slow run, 2 mins sprint - followed by ten mins slow run) three times strength training with weights (low reps high weight) one\two times...
