Can missing lantus have such a long lasting effect?

Yeah, I'm under one of those GP's that only give me 1 box at a time.... I'll be making an appointment to see them in January to make some changes! I'll speak to my consultant at the hospital to jolly the GP's along Thanks

Can missing lantus have such a long lasting effect?

It wasn't my intention... GP's (not them personally, the system they work under) can be a pain, but it's partly my fault for waiting til I was on my last cartridge to order a repeat! I'll stick with some super close monitoring and corrective doses where necessary, hopefully I'll balance back out...

Can missing lantus have such a long lasting effect?

I missed 2 days, I'm not too familiar with DAFNE I've come across it in the past, but it's not really been something I've studied. Prior to missing lantus my level shave been very good, and controllable, 4-7 in mornings 4-8 2 hrs after eating

    Missed Lantus Dose

Hi, I'm in the same boat, it's taking me longer than expected to get back to normal (my version of normal) I'm monitoring my blood sugars a lot and so far (about a week) im not there yet, but having Xmas I guess hasn't helped with all the food! Now I'm back to my normal regime, im hoping to be...

Can missing lantus have such a long lasting effect?

Hi, Just before Xmas I lost my lantus pen, it was a mix up my end, I have spare pens but I was on my last cartridge and managed to loose the pen not long after putting the cartridge in, Any how, long story short, it took me 2 days to get a replacement, GP's can be trying sometimes.... Back to...

Wow, ok thanks, that's something to look into then, I really want to get it done. How did you go about it? Did you have to get a referral to Moorfields?

Optimax won't perform eye surgery if you're on insulin??

I was told this today by Optimax, but I know people with diabetes have had laser eye surgery, so I was wondering where people have had it done if they have had it done this year and they are on insulin. They didn't really give any real reasons, even though the hospital say its ok. Has anyone...

Laser Eye Surgery (for correcting vision)

I'd say I am reasonably well controlled, HbA1c normally between 5.8 - 6.3, rarely hypo, BG normally between 4 and 5 am, my vision is bad due to my astigmatism, not to anything else (I think) the hospital. and opticians say it's due to age, not anything else, and for me it's more vanity, as I...

Laser Eye Surgery (for correcting vision)

Sorry if this has been asked already, I did search, but only found retinopathy related results, Has anyone here had laser eye surgery to correct vision, I want to get it done, but have heard mixed things as to whether diabetics should get it done? At my last visit to the hospital, the doc told...

Why do my levels creep up?

Thanks for that, I'll look into that, I know I actually stopped eating pizza because of the effect it has on me but I thought it was due to the pizza sauce/high fat content, makes sense, about the cheese, even though the team at the hospital encourage me to eat cheese as I'm slim.... Hmmmmm :)

Why do my levels creep up?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else here has this, or can shed any light on this, When I eat, example, today for dinner, I had a baked potato with smoked salmon and brie, with a side of coleslaw, I took 7 units of insulin, my pre dinner BG was 5.7, I ate at 20:30, at 23:00 my BG was 7.7...

    High Blood Sugar Levels

Hi, I was the same prior to diagnosis, when I went to my GP because I was getting leg cramps, thirsty, peeing a lot and losing weight, they did a fingerprick test, level was 27.1, they sent me to the hospital the following morning for blood tests, that was some 5 years ago, I hope the replies...

    Cost of Blood Sugar Testing

Hey, I have this meter, and last year I got this meter.... http://www.accu-chek.co.uk/gb/products/metersystems/compactplusgt.html (sorry, don't know how to post a link....) it's the new version, and it takes the same test strips, which, to my knowledge, are readily available

    who monitors me

Wow, reading through this thread has surprised me, It seems that treatment for type 2's has changed drastically since my diagnosis 3.5 yrs ago, or maybe it's cos my gp's either like me, or can't be a$%ed with me! They give me test strips on repeat, without question (yet) as and when I need more...

    Should I go onto Insulin?

   Thanks for the replies, I think I'll stay low carbing then, I do have a strict(ish) routine, it can be difficult to follow, and I'm still weening myself off of the carbs, but some meals (breakfast) I'm having trouble with, as I don't have the time (actually, I'm not a...

    Should I go onto Insulin?

My current hbac1 is 7.2 this has come down slowly over the last year, but i've taken myself off of the repaglinide now as the low carbing doesn't affect my levels to a point where I have cause for concern.

    Should I go onto Insulin?

I had the most diabolical review I've had yesterday at my local hospital, not because my levels were up or anything bad like that, but because it seemed like the Nurse just wanted to go home.... :x I'm there for a 6 month review, and I had to ask her what my Hbac1 reading was... I have debated...
