    Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI)

Thanks for sharing! I had never even heard of this condition until my gastroenterologist mentioned it; I was more worried about possible IBD - i.e. Chrons Disease, as I know that is more common with T1D too. If you Google Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency or EPI there are lots of articles and...

    Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI)

I have been having mild abdominal discomfort and loose stools so my GP ordered various stool tests, all of which were normal except the Faecal Elastase test which came back showing severe pancreatic deficiency. Waiting to see a Gastroenterologist to find out what this means but from researching...

    Couple of things

I have been using Dexcom ONE for about a year. The App is really buggy and it often fails to give me alerts; not sure if it's because of my iPhone 14 or just a known issue. Also, it is really inaccurate (reads high) unless I put it on my upper arm. I think I am going to ask to switch to Libre...

    Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI)

Hi everyone. I've been having some abdominal pains and my gastro ordered a faecal elastase test; the result came back at 70 which indicates severe pancreatic insufficiency (EPI). From looking online, apparently approx. 20-60% of T1Ds get this condition. The treatment is enzyme tablets that...

    Type 1 Diabetes and IBD?

Hi everyone. For the past 4-6 weeks I have had minor abdominal pains and increasingly watery stools. Saw GP who did some tests and the Calprotectin stool test came back positive (93) which could suggest I have IBD (e.g. Chrons or UC). I'm being referred to a Gastroenterologist for more tests...

Pins and Needles Not Going Away!

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? Did it go away? What was your "joint/bone pain like"? Hope you're OK.

    Does this sound like neuropathy?

Hi everyone, Over the past month I have been experiencing some really worrying symptoms, mainly a light "tingling" / "pins and needles" / "pin pricking" sensation. It started on the soles of my hands and inner wrists, then moved to a specific spot on my left foot and now also occurs on random...

Novopen 6 and Dexcom One - NHS?

Hello everyone, I currently have Libre 2 and Novopen Echo on prescription but would love to change these to Dexcom One and the Novopen 6. Does anyone know if this is possible and how I can arrange it? I don't have an appointment with my Diabetes team for nearly a year, would my GP be able to...

    Spring (i.e. second) COVID-19 booster?

Hi everyone. It's been more than 6 months since I got my COVID-19 booster so I'm starting to get anxious about fading protection. Are we eligible with T1D for having a "weakened immune system" or do we just have to sit and wait? I have family in the USA who have no underlying health...

Confused by a Tresiba "Side Effects"

Well they are referred to as "adverse reactions" which to me is basically the same thing as a side effect as it is implying these are negative reactions arising from use of Tresiba.

Confused by a Tresiba "Side Effects"

Thanks @Antje77 - appreciate it. I expect you're right but I just found it so strange they'd listed those out so explicitly, as I don't think other prescription drugs state people reporting colds etc. whilst taking a particular drug? Curious if any other insulins include these same disclaimers.

Confused by a Tresiba "Side Effects"

So according to multiple sources, one possible side effect of Tresiba is "upper respiratory tract infections". Even NovoNordisk themselves cite this as a possible side effect (see here). Apparently a worrying 11.9% of adults using Tresiba have this "adverse reaction" and an even more...

Confused as I’m high all week

Did you go back to normal? I'm currently going through the same thing of a weird period of random high sugars for seemingly no reason. Hope you are back to your normal levels.

Periods of high blood sugars with no explanation

Hi everyone. Hope you are all keeping safe and well. Over the last week I've been struggling with high blood sugars. I have increased my nightly basal Tresiba from 17 units to 22 units (which has not yet had any impact) and my NovoRapid ratios have tripled (i.e. a typical meal that would...

Any developments about Dexcom on prescription?

I've been using Libre for the last couple of months and I'm completely fed up with it. I am, of course, incredibly grateful to have it on prescription and know how lucky we are to be able to have this technology. However, after using Dexcom for 2-3 years it just does not compare; for me, Libre...

    Libre accuracy - help!

Thanks. I'm worried they will "ban" me soon because I've needed so many replacements lately! They really don't work well for me. I might have to go back to self-funding Dexcom :(

    Libre accuracy - help!

Hi everyone. I recently switched from Dexcom to Libre and have literally had nothing but problems.; it seems to always be inaccurate for me (whereas Dexcom was consistently amazing on the accuracy front). Anyway, my latest issue is that I inserted a sensor last night and it was perfect for the...

BD Microfine Needles 4mm - stock issues?

It was pharmacy2u that told me the same! I also tried another pharmacy and there was no issue, so not happy they’re telling people porkies!

BD Microfine Needles 4mm - stock issues?

From my research VIVA is definitely not the same as Micro-Fine and is a cheaper and inferior product without the same amount of lubrication. Glad they worked for you but I'd rather stay with Micro-Fine TBH!

BD Microfine Needles 4mm - stock issues?

Hi everyone, these are the only needles I like as others have caused me scars / pain but my Pharmacy is saying there are manufacturing issues and I need to ask my GP for another brand. Anyone heard the same ... Is this true, any advice?
