Due to eyelea no longer working for me, the hospital is going to use lucentis to see if it works, I have read that this drug can cause stroke or heart attack. Has anyone experience any complications with lucentis? How did it work until it stopped? I know everyone is different.
I see many people posting on here about their first time having anti-vegf treatment. so I thought I post my experience.
It might look scary, but it is not at all and it is painless. The nurse before hand will numb your eye which is been treated, then they will put some iodine to prevent...
If you need injections, do not worry it is not as bad as you think it is, I have had several and the results are good, you don't feel any pain when they do it, all the best.
Anyone here who have had their licence revoked because they failed a specsavers test and got it reinstated after sending evidence from an independent optician, this is what I have done and waiting for a response from the DVLA.
If you are on insulin then you need to inform the DVLA, download the medical form from their website under medical conditions and send it to them, they will contact your GP.
As mentioned here, they will restrict your licence for 3 years probably.
Well I managed to get an independent eye examination and the optician told me that I am safe to drive with glasses and she has written a letter to send with re-application,
they wrote back pretty quick Mike. So now I will see my optician next week to see what he can do, if he can correct my vision with stronger specs then I will re-apply. I had several anti vegf and two laser treatment .
Had a letter today saying my license has been revoked because i cannot read a number plate of 20 meters even with my glasses, so now I have to go and see if I can improve it, before reapplying
If your GP or consultant says you can drive then you should be fine. I am type 2 and I still drive, just make sure you eat something before driving and have something in the car in case.
So I assume DVLA will now contact my consultant before making any decisions as this is the first time I had this test. My consultant said I can drive but had to let DVLA know which I did by the book. How long did it take to get a letter from them first time?
I am type 2 and recently had laser and anti veg f treatment for both of my eyes i have macular oedema,
I recently went to specsavers for a dvla test and I am now fearing that the DVLA will revoke my licence. Has anyone here lost their licence with this condition. I think my field test was ok...
What is the risk that even so I had treatments that I could still lose my sight?
I seem to get mixed information about this and I thought this forum might tell me from personal experience if anyone has had sight loss
dont worry too much about laser treatment, they will numb the eye so you will not feel it, i had 2 treatments and now I am on anti-vegf 6 treatments, it is not bad at all. Good luck
thanks for that catherine, my sight has returned to near normal as before, I was a bit worried as I know lucentus can have complications and I just wanted some info.
I went to have an injection of anti-vegf yesterday and my sight is still blurry after 24 hours of treatment.
Has anyone on here had similar issues, did it resolve itself or did stay that way?
Glad that my post is helping people here, it was a subject which I was curious about because if using computer screens made my problem worse I would have had to stop
