    Insulin neuritis

Kelly, I’m so sorry to hear what you’re going through. It’s so ironic that doing ‘the right thing’ has such horrible side effects, albeit temporary. I know it’s almost impossible to think it’ll ever improve but it will. I know getting through what’s happening now is hard. Looking back at my...

    Insulin neuritis

Thank you, I feel for anyone going through it. It really is just like a bad dream now. I took B vitamins & Alpha-lipoic acid as well as the demon Tramadol but TBH I think it was so bad at the time that very little helped. Sorry to say that time really was the only healer. When I was going...

    Insulin neuritis

Just wanted to reassure everyone suffering with Insulin Neuritis that it is temporary. Took me over a year to get clear of it, but it did finally ease. You all have my sympathies as I know how hard it is to deal with. It was also absolutely horrendous weaning myself off Tramadol (brilliant...

Show Nutritional information in eating establishments- petition

Thanks for the link, although I'm now confused  Is it just allergens they're obliged to share or nutrients (carbs) too? The real test is to ask at different places I suppose... as in the proof of the pudding etc! CarbsRok - do you by any chance know where we'd find the legal stuff you...

CarbsRok, didn't know it was law! Is that everywhere...eg hospitals, school dinners, etc? Noble head, I use the Carbs/cals app when we're out and about, saves lugging the book about and works even without wifi connection.

That's true, I was thinking more of bigger places I suppose. Although littler places might have more knowledge of what's in their foods if you ask! It'd be nice not to have to make a fuss or be made to feel like you're being a pain for asking awkward questions! Hubby and I are vegetarian, so...

I think others have it 'under the counter' so to speak! Our local Asda cafe have a folder they'll refer to if you ask.

Show Nutritional information in eating establishments- petition

From a link on Facebook, I stumbled across this petition calling for "eating establishments" to display nutritional info including, significantly, carbs! For some reason it has very few signatures. I've shared it on several other diabetes themed Facebook pages, but maybe posting here will boost...

    Leg and foot pain

Hi Kelly, sorry you're in so much pain. I had a severe reaction to my BG getting back from dangerously high to normal very quickly when I was diagnosed early last year (Type 1). Part of that included literally jumpy nerves and severe leg pains that had me climbing the walls. I've always been...

    LOW CARB: Shopping List.

We have chia seeds and flax seeds ground up and sprinkled on top of breakfast porridge and berries. I tried grinding them with a pestle & mortar but was always left with horrid black bits of husk that got stuck between teeth! So now it's done with a quick zap in a coffee grinder!

    LOW CARB: Shopping List.

Hi ickihun, hope I've not hijacked your post by asking the vegetarian question! Sorry! It's just a struggle at times trying to find things that are filling when you don't eat meat, etc and are trying to avoid going down the route of too much bread, rice, pasta, etc

    LOW CARB: Shopping List.

Good list! We often have plain soya yoghurt with berries and nuts, and well reminded...Aldi's frozen burgers! Haven't had them for ages!

    LOW CARB: Shopping List.

I'm on an iPad and don't know how to "right click" so I'd "copy" & "paste" onto something that I know I can print once I'm home, like an email to myself, for example.

    LOW CARB: Shopping List.

Brilliant Celeriac, I'm vegetarian (verging on vegan) so I'm struggling a bit with lo-carb. I've have missed out the meat, fish, etc obviously, but it's a good start for a list for me too. If there are any other veg*ans out there with good lo-carb shopping list ideas I'd love to hear them! :-)
