    Diagnosed over 4 years ago but have anxiety to test sugar levels

    Does anyone else have a problem testing themselves? I am over 4 years into my diagnosis with an initial a1c of 96 but have never monitored the condition due to anxiety with finger prick part of testing. Is there a way to overcome this fear and get a hold of my condition?

    Yes I managed once and that took me ages to do but I'm still too chicken. Even though I know my A1C never got below 64 in all the visits to the diabetic nurse.

    I've been told not to test and the dn recommended baked potatoes in my diet but would that not spike a t2?

    Self testing when newly diagnosed

    Recently diagnosed with t2 a1c 98, random finger 20 mmol, under active thyroid, fatty liver etc. doctor prescribed metformin. Not hugely overweight around 80kg. When I asked doc about self testing she said no need to bother. However I've no way of knowing about progress. Did anyone else...

    Wispa, boost, magnum bar, sarnie, kettle chips, Maynard gums, beans on toast. In a state of denial. Waiting on follow up app at gp. A1c was 94, last finger test 16. Finding hard to adjust until I get diagnosis
