Any Type 3C people out there?

hi type 1 here, on t-slim x2 pump with a dexcom 6 CGM they have 10-20 min delay on readings due to not reading blood sugars directly(this is what causes the differences between blood test and cgm readings) but the control-iq hybrid-closed loop can level out spikes and lows and does a pritty...

    Medtronic 780g

i'd try one of the other pumps like tandem t-slim-x2 with a dexcom 6 sensor unless you're getting the guardian 4 sensors as the other one's need 2+ finger pricks per day or the sensor stops working and the pump drops out of loop the dexcom lasts 10 day's as well with the dexcom 7 planned to...

    Pumps pros and cons

try to get your consultant or DSN to work out average hospital admittance cost's versus pump cost's per year and if refused then ask your MP to write to ask why they're wasting money on hospital admittance as 1x(999 call out+ A&E, 3-7) days in hospital probably cost's more than pump + sensor...

    Pumps pros and cons

I'm supposed get the t-slim x2 with Dexcom when my pump warranty run's out in march. The only one they won't fund is the CamAPS® FX | Advanced Therapeutics (UK) Ltd as they won't fund the phone app that allows to learn as it runs as it £70-80's per month in cambridge but that allows a lot...

    Pumps pros and cons

the new hybrid closed loop pumps need the cgm to to work properly so should have their cgms proscribed with them if they don't ask your Member of parliament to write to funding body to get the cgm

    Pumps pros and cons

currently on the Medtronic 640g moving to T-slim x2. Medtronic 640g-780g the pain with the guardian 3 CGM is the calibration as you need to do it every 6-12 hours or it shut's the cgm down which is bad if you have very irregular sleep patterns and miss a calibration you will drop out of auto...

i think the problem with fiasp is the t-slim is programmed for the response curve of nova rapid insulin and fiasp does not last as long and has a faster peak effect

Newly diagnosed T1D wanting a pump on NHS

ask your diabetic team to cost a bad or average year (999 call out, hospital and A&E costs) to compare with costs of a pump and a CGM and use it your request for a pump as 1 (999 call out,+a few days in hospital) will most likely cost more the the yearly running cost of pump+CGM :) if they...

look at the new hybrid-loop pumps like :- Minimed 780G System pp | Medtronic Diabetes (medtronic-diabetes.co.uk) CamAPS® FX | Advanced Therapeutics (UK) Ltd should be licensed some time next year as trails finish in December and there are other hybrid-loop and closed loop's coming out soonish

    Glucose sensors

if you end up in hospital 2 or more times a year having a CGM will work out cheaper for the NHS than the CGM. Ask your diabetic team to cost of worst year for hospital admission's then they can argue that the CGM will save money.

    New to T1D

try to see if you can get a CGM(continuous glucose monitor) to use for a few months as that will show you what your blood sugars are doing every 5 min's 24/7 showing food, insulin and lifestyle effects on blood sugars
