Is HbA1c a reliable indicator of diabetes control?

Hey I agree with the original post too. I have diabetes caused by pancreatitis from alcohol abuse. Sober 3 years now but hard 10 years on my body. My monitor always reads above 15 and that's the lowest I get during the day. Always goes up if I use energy even if I've not eaten. But my hbac1 is...

Type 1: How many test strips do you use up a month ?

Hi everyone, I use 300 a month and get given 400 on repeat script. It is hard work ordering things at first but once the GP see that my bloods are under very good control they don't mind. I have to take 32 tablets a day as well so you can imagine how hard it is for me to remember when to order...

    Type 1.5 Lantus

Yeah it seems as though my lantus doesn't last anywhere near long enough through the day. So hopefully if I take half tonight and half in the morning I may get a better result. Because as soon as my novorapid wears off I'm getting highs again

    Painful left foot

I've been told by ocdem the specialist I'm under that as I've had type1 all my life but it's been hidden by my heavy drinking (t total 2years April) that the damage is to severe. And my bloods are not great either through the day. I do take duloxutine 60mg twice daily.

    Painful left foot

Anybody else suffer with pain in the feet? It's a real horrible feeling like the foot is ice cold and when I touch it some times it's warm. I've been told it's nerve damage caused by my diabetes being untreated for so many years [emoji22]

Yeah exactly that, I'm steady till 2.5hours and then bang I test again and I'm at 12+ it's crazy. Yeah if I took more I'd drop to low as i tried this a few times. Never thought about the pump to be honest. What it is is that I was a heavy drinker for 10 plus years then decided to stop a couple...
