    Antibiotics and Metaformin

My doctor prescribed me Nitrofuratonin for a UTI. I was vomiting on it so he changed my antibiotic to Trimetaprim. Again I started vomiting until there was nothing left in my stomach. I take two metaformin in morning and two in evening along with insulin. Has this happened to anyone else? What...

What if I'm not a Type 1 Diabetic???

She said she can help balance my hormones and prevent a miscarriage as I have suffered recurrent losses. If I have a successful pregnancy with her, she can have my liver, kidneys, heart and half working pancreas - not just my feet!

What if I'm not a Type 1 Diabetic???

Thanks everybody! Reading all of your comments has been really interesting. In my mind, I am not a diabetic and I have always felt that way! Do you think I have a case if I was to sue the hospital for their negligence considering I was only a child at the time? I was diagnosed in 1996 and...

What if I'm not a Type 1 Diabetic???

I did previously ask my consultant if I could change my background insulin to something else but he said Lantus is the best choice as I was planning to become pregnant. I am not overly impressed with Lantus to be honest... I believe glucophage is a slower releasing version of metaformin.

What if I'm not a Type 1 Diabetic???

Guys, this question has been troubling me all week. Let me give you some context: I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 12. My diabetes was caused by a steroid I was given by the children's hospital - Ive always felt my parents should have sued. I am now in my late 30s and have...

I am in my late 30s and have PCOS and Type 1 diabetes. My HBAC1 is currently 52 and I have suffered three miscarriages. The first two occurred after natural conception and the most recent one after a frozen embryo transplant. There was a heartbeat at 8 weeks but not 12. Can anyone offer me any...

    Worried about first scan results

A quick update. Baby has now grown from 6mm to 15mm in a week! The nurse this time was much nicer. I have been eating all the right 'stuff' and controlling my sugars. She dated me at eight weeks pregnant :)

My husband knows but we wanted to wait until 12 weeks to tell the family as I have previously had two miscarriages. I do feel like the nurse could have been more sensitive.

    Worried about first scan results

I am a Type 1 diabetic. I have conceived via IVF I had a frozen embryo transfer. Yesterday I was 7weeks and 3days pregnant and I had my ultrasound scan, but CRL was 6mm. The nurse has really scared me as she said the baby should have been 9mm in length. There was a heartbeat but she said next...

    Low blood sugar

I just want to say congratulations on your weight loss! I have realised that the more weight I have gained, the more insulin resistant I have become! I was on 22 units of lantus and carb counting with apidra as well as 2 metaformin tablets a day but am now on the Omnipod pump which is great. I...

    Disgusted by Cellnovo

Quick update: I was moved onto the Omnipod a few weeks after this fiasco and I absolutely love it! It is so easy to use and does not beep 24/7 as if it is a third wheel in mine and my husband's relationship like the Cellnovo pump did! I guess everything happens for a reason and Cellnovo going...

    Disgusted by Cellnovo

The insulin pens had been removed from my prescription. I still had Lantus pens so been using them, but Apidra vials for pump I have been drawing up in a syringe and injecting which have caused my sugars to drop to 3.2 two nights in a row now. The needles were leftovers I had from other...

    DISCRIMINATION AT SCHOOL

like your daughter, I ended up resigning and the school I am at now is completely different. I am so much happier and feel at peace with life. There is a student who I teach who is only twelve and she is diabetic, I have been helping her deal with her diabetes. You are right, life needs to...

    Disgusted by Cellnovo

Cellnovo have gone into administration. They sent me an email and a day later my pump stopped working. I tried to go back onto the apidra pens and the chemist said it will take 48 hours to process my prescription. I have ran out of insulin and resorted to using a needle to draw it out of the...
