    Aspartame

Most people will have no reaction. There will always be someone who has a dangerous reaction to any substance. I've heard far worse things about Ibuprofen for example.

    Diabetes and Coffee

One of the main ingredients in coffee whitener is glucose. From what I can see it's about 25-28% glucose by weight.

Acrabose any one used this ?

It's an alpha amylase inhibitor and alpha glucosidase inhibitor rolled into one drug which should prevent some of the carbs being broken down properly so they continue to ferment further down the digestive system over a longer time reaulting in a reduced carbohydrate absorption. I've been...

    Private Hba1c test?

For cheaper strips check a company called 'value med uk' - they come top in a google search for 'value med uk'. They sell 'on call' test strips and meters. Strips cost £10 for 50 ! Yes 50, much cheaper than most others. I buy them 500 a time every few months.

    Private Hba1c test?

I had a private HBA1c test done when I was on a three month stint in Bangkok recently. I went to Samitivej hospital, saw a consultant Endo and told her I want a thyroid, B21 level, HBA1C and a test to look for the antibody which can show an onset ofType 1. They don't do the antibody test in...

DE-Carb - probably too good to be true !

I did one google search and came up with a uk based supplier called power health who sell 90 x 500mg tablets for £7.88 Assuming you took three tablets twice per day they would last 15 days so the cost would be around £16 per month. I'm going to order some and run some tests.

DE-Carb - probably too good to be true !

I'm finding it quite hard to believe nobody here is interested in this topic I suspect the topic's title is probably putting people off even reading it in the first place which is why I originally named it something different.

DE-Carb - probably too good to be true !

Alpha-amylase inhibitor / starch / carb blocker I searched this forum and found only one topic on something I stumbled across today, nobody followed up on it. It's in relation to a starch / card blocker produced from white kidney beans. There have been various clinical studies on people who...

    Wisdom Teeth Help!!

Put some 'clove oil' on your tooth and it will stop the pain. It's an anasthetic and is sold in every pharmacy without any prescription - it really does work ! It also tastes really bad if you get it on your tongue.

    diet drinks awareness

I poured some coca cola onto a urine glucose test stick and it changed to a dark brown colour, when I tried it with pepsi max it didn't change colour at all. A dark brown colour on the test stick signifies a very high sugar level - 100 mmol/l and it's the highest reading the sticks I have can...

    Test strips pricing

Andy, you're right, this is what I've been doing. I found out I have T2 diabetes about a month ago and have been testing multiple times each day before and after meals. I find bread , especially ready made pizza bases are very high in carbs (120 grams) , so I made a pizza using a tortilla wrap...

    Test strips pricing

This is interesting, I was in my local Tesco Extra and they told me the price for a pack of '50+1' Accu Chek Compact strips will be about £28. Interestingly enough they were selling the Accu Chek Compact Plus machine with a cartridge of 17 test strips, lancets, etc for about £6.50, the...

    Test strips pricing

It looks to me like some of the people selling single packets of test strips on ebay are selling their prescribed strips instead of using them.

I think i done somthing bad not sure though feel bit guilty

I suspect there is a direct link between argumentative / violent behaviour, memory loss and high blood sugar levels based on my own experiences. From what I have been reading it doesn't appear to be a very common side effect and I can't find much information on it. Does anyone have any more...

    Feeling cold

I heat my rooms to about 80 Degrees Fahrenheit, if it drops to about 76 I feel a chill, a couple of years ago I'd be sweating when it reached about 72 and I generally avoided the heat if I could. Strangely enough I noticed that when I first get up I don't notice the cold so much at all until a...

I was in Boots today to purchase some test strips and noticed the Accu-Chek packs in cartridges containing 17 strips were priced at about £6.60 a box. I enquired as to how much the triple pack that is often prescribed would cost and to my surprise the pharmacist told me it costs about £28 : MUCH...
