    Blood sugar drops during night?

It’s okay, my team encourages that we do it ourselves, in fact I often get told off for not doing it. They’ll be pleased I’m making some changes!

    Blood sugar drops during night?

For my levels during the day I would completely agree with this explanation. But I’d normally eat around 8ish and have fast acting insulin then but won’t have anymore till morning, everything else is just the basal in the background. I also dont treat the hypers before bed because I know it...

    Blood sugar drops during night?

Hi, I’ve had this struggle for a while now and I’m still unsure on why it’s happening Please ignore the awful blood sugars I’m working on trying to fix it. But for whatever reason my blood sugar seems to go down massively during the night and it never stays steady. I don’t know why this...

    Pump

I’ve had mine for over a year now and I love it! At first I did notice it quite a lot (but who wouldn’t it is a massive lump on ur belt)! I’ve never used anything to clip it onto I’ve just clipped it onto my clothes and never really had a problem with that. With sleeping I used to keep it...

    Newly diagnosed

I too myself do love a snack. To stop myself from snacking so often I have 4 meals a day!! Obviously the 4th meal isn’t massive but I will have it when I get home from school and it stops me from snacking without insulin :)

Changing carb ratios and basal rates at home.

Hi all, I’m currently still in the children’s outpatients as I’m only 16. I just wanted to ask a question on whether or not you change your carb ratios or basal rates at home by yourself, without the help of a doctor. Or does your doctor do it? I have noticed while being on this site, if I am...

    Mock examinations

Yes this could help however a low could take up to 20 minutes to cure and if your exam is not very long then you will not get enough extra time. I know of exams that only give you 15 minutes extra time, which just isn’t enough time. It will also cause you to rush.

    Mock examinations

Hi, I am also a student currently in year 11 doing their GCSEs next week! I have a stop the clock so if I’m feeling low I am able to ‘stop the clock’ and treat it otherwise it’s unfair on me. However so far I currently have never used this as I find it better just to prevent it all together. I...

    Having diabetes makes me depressed

I never said it was but it’s better than what we had before and leads us to be one step closer.

    Having diabetes makes me depressed

Actually it’s the opposite continuous high blood sugar causes weight loss as the body cannot get the glucose to the blood as well and therefore uses the fat however this is ridiculously dangerous and doing exercise should in fact decrease your blood sugar levels as you’ve not got enough energy...

    Having diabetes makes me depressed

You have to rise above. You need to see the advantages that diabetes has for you. Physical ones, no. Lifestyle ones, endless amounts. Late to school/work oh sorry diabetes, want to get out of something oh sorry diabetes playing up. You need to rise above your doctors, ask for a pump I have a...

Has anyone been given 25% extra time for exams (GCSEs or A levels)?

Hi, I am currently taking my GCSE’s and i tend to get pretty bad hypos too as well as highs during exam time. I have ‘stopping the clock’ which is very useful as if I ever need to test my blood sugar I can stop when ever I like for however long I need. I do feel however that the exam...
