I have just that - I run a closed loop but its not official. Its a bit more complicated to get running and of course may have issues that the official solutions do not have. However i find it great, but it’s definitely a lot more taking it into your own hands.

@searley I have a DASH now, so I use a NEXT meter. Yes expiry is an issue but there are 2/3 of them are still within date. Edit: Sorry misread your post - I do not. I was using it as my main meter until it stopped accepting strips (just said error everytime one was inserted).

@EllieM They do, but they are all used and selling for double their retail. There was a cheaper one but it was really long delivery. (edited by mod)

@searley Yer thats the omnipod one, but this is exactly my point, waiting for years now for obvious reasons, I just wondered if there was any updates on getting the Dash to work on the already out there DIY apps/ kits. Thanks,

Is there any news on the closed loop and DASH situation? Of course Tidepool are are still doing theirs and I believe Insulet are doing their own but they will bound to be limited trials or US only when out. What happened to the we are not waiting approach, it looks like Tidepool still use that...

@Charisma_1630 At the moment there is no way for the UK/ Europe Dash to bluetooth from a meter. Not sure why but thats the way it is. @Heathero There is no way to transfer the insulin programme :(

@Sweetbinty so on the original omnipod (Eros) the setting to go to 0.05u is home > Settings > System Setup > Bolus/ basal/ calcs > Bolus Increment. The you can pick 0.05u, 0.10u, 0.5u and 1u. On the DASH, I set this up in the beginning but for some reason I can’t find it in the settings. Will...

I am pretty sure there is a setting on your old omnipod to change to 0.05u increments. But yes the dash does use 0.05u increments, as its the same as the old version.

@Heathero The exact model is a NUU A1+ so that model case should fit. But also Omnipod supply one with the device.

@Heathero I was a little concerned with that, but in all honesty it hasn’t been a problem. A smaller meter and the DASH is far more manageable. On top if that if nip out I often go with DASH only (relying on Dexcom).

Get ready, its a £49.99 Nuu A1+. Kinda ideal tbh. Its not going to be slick as a Samsung but it should be overkill for running the app.
