    Omnipod DASH + Dexcom

I have just that - I run a closed loop but its not official. Its a bit more complicated to get running and of course may have issues that the official solutions do not have. However i find it great, but it’s definitely a lot more taking it into your own hands.

    Freestyle Lite Meter

@Alexandra100 It was an old Omnipod, I was already on the DASH and was using it solely as a meter. I whisked around eBay, and I actually got a pet one for next to nothing which uses Freestyle strips! (Alphatrak 2). It is just a rebranded Freestyle Lite meter, so that's why they aren't...

    Freestyle Lite Meter

@searley I have a DASH now, so I use a NEXT meter. Yes expiry is an issue but there are 2/3 of them are still within date. Edit: Sorry misread your post - I do not. I was using it as my main meter until it stopped accepting strips (just said error everytime one was inserted).

    Freestyle Lite Meter

@EllieM They do, but they are all used and selling for double their retail. There was a cheaper one but it was really long delivery. (edited by mod)

    Freestyle Lite Meter

Hi all, Recently my cat has decided on joining the diabetic club. I have tonnes of leftover freestyle lite strips from my Omnipod before I went dash. Does anyone know where to get a Freestyle Lite meter that I could buy as it seems hard to buy one as they seem to have stopped making them? I...

    Omnipod DASH and Closed Loop

@searley Yer thats the omnipod one, but this is exactly my point, waiting for years now for obvious reasons, I just wondered if there was any updates on getting the Dash to work on the already out there DIY apps/ kits. Thanks,

    Omnipod DASH and Closed Loop

Is there any news on the closed loop and DASH situation? Of course Tidepool are are still doing theirs and I believe Insulet are doing their own but they will bound to be limited trials or US only when out. What happened to the we are not waiting approach, it looks like Tidepool still use that...

    Received the Omnipod DASH

@Charisma_1630 At the moment there is no way for the UK/ Europe Dash to bluetooth from a meter. Not sure why but thats the way it is. @Heathero There is no way to transfer the insulin programme :(

    Received the Omnipod DASH

@Sweetbinty so on the original omnipod (Eros) the setting to go to 0.05u is home > Settings > System Setup > Bolus/ basal/ calcs > Bolus Increment. The you can pick 0.05u, 0.10u, 0.5u and 1u. On the DASH, I set this up in the beginning but for some reason I can’t find it in the settings. Will...

    Received the Omnipod DASH

I am pretty sure there is a setting on your old omnipod to change to 0.05u increments. But yes the dash does use 0.05u increments, as its the same as the old version.

    Received the Omnipod DASH

@Heathero The exact model is a NUU A1+ so that model case should fit. But also Omnipod supply one with the device.

    Received the Omnipod DASH

@Heathero I was a little concerned with that, but in all honesty it hasn’t been a problem. A smaller meter and the DASH is far more manageable. On top if that if nip out I often go with DASH only (relying on Dexcom).

    Received the Omnipod DASH

@Heathero I use one of my others (i.s. Contour NEXT, or my old Omnipod as I have loads of strips left) and just input the value. It does not pair with Dexcom or Libre, but I do use my Dexcom to bolus off. Still uploads to Diasend. One tip for that, unlock the DASH before you plug the USB in...

    Received the Omnipod DASH

@Postleneo So milage will vary by usage, now I have stopped getting used to it/ playing with it. I last charged it Sunday and it is on 36 percent today (Wed). Better than expected if I am honest. About the battery, it is a Nuu phone, so if you can get a battery you should be able to keep one...

    Received the Omnipod DASH

Hi All, I have now received my DASH, I was considering adding onto the last topic about the DASH but I decided to start fresh as this is more about the actual handset rather than availability. My favourite improvement is the ability to turn off all beeps apart from the hazard (pod fail...

    Omnipod DASH

@Sideburnt Ok so not sure about early upgrading, but out of pocket replacements of PDMs are between 300-400. Ouch for a base 49.99 phone. I understand it would always be higher cost as the phone has to have mods and CFW put on it but that does seem steep. I would like to know how they worked out...

    Omnipod DASH

Get ready, its a £49.99 Nuu A1+. Kinda ideal tbh. Its not going to be slick as a Samsung but it should be overkill for running the app.

    Omnipod DASH

I think it’s just a improved PDM (basically a small cheap android phone - locked down) with additional food library.

    Omnipod DASH

I don’t loop at the moment, I kind of want to but as I’ve been offered the DASH and I am happy with my HBA I will go for it. Maybe one of the looping things will figure out theDash pods in the future. Especially as the US are getting the official loop releases (Tidepool and Horizon). No uk...
