    C peptide/ faecal elastase type 3???

Hello @christmasfairy1 . I echo what @EllieM said about getting to see an endocrinologist. I've just been on this journey following the same symptoms you experienced but without the pain. Once I got referred by my GP they quickly took control and organised CT/MRI scans which showed a large IPMN...

Type 3c - how many are we?

When I joined this forum a few years ago I was LADA and have recently become classified Type 3 after having my pancreas removed. Happy to share my experiences with anyone going through the same thing.

Yikes - is this the end of the honeymoon period?

Thanks Circuspony. I have never plummeted, I imagine in might be quite scary. I am meeting my DN soon so will mention the infection aspect. regards, Chris

Yikes - is this the end of the honeymoon period?

Hi Andy, thanks for your advice and spelling corrections! Your control sounds excellent. I am nowhere near that but am not taking any mealtime insulin. At the moment it seems that any carbs are causing big increases in BS and then taking a long time to come back. I looked at the some of the...

Yikes - is this the end of the honeymoon period?

Thank you Daibell. I am just on Basal. I may have a small infection in my gums at the moment, I will try and find a link to my higher BS.

Yikes - is this the end of the honeymoon period?

Thanks for this advice. I have a call with my DN and trying to get to see the doc tomorrow. Interestingly I am down to 7 after a carb free lunch and half an hour on the exercise bike, whereas yesterday I was very high after 30 mile cycle and similar lunch.

Yikes - is this the end of the honeymoon period?

I have been LADA for over a year now. My Diabetic Nurse has been pleased with my improving HBa1c scores along the way. I inject 8 units Levemir at 10.30pm and exercise, eat sensibly and maintained my 12stone body weight since I became a 'thin' diabetic. My BS scores have always been the wrong...

Insulin storage/obtaining on European road trip

Happy New Year everyone! I am thinking of travelling around Europe for a couple of months in our camper van. It has a fridge but cannot be relied on to keep my insulin pens continuously cold for the trip -the fridge only lasts 3 days before needing to hook up to mains electricity and we will be...

Any one recommend an App that has similar features to D Tracker please?

Hi All, My Diabetes UK D Tracker App, which I've been using since my diagnosis, doesn't work with Iphone IOS 11 and I get the impression from a quick google that is being made obsolete. I usually record Blood Sugar and what I've eaten (in note form). I can then scroll back to see my history...

Feeling weird for a week and then OK after changing Levemir Flexi Pen

Hi Andrew That is a a really good question and one I am not sure I am able to truly answer for you. I had never heard of LADA until my Diabetic Nurse suggested I might have it and sent me for blood tests. Mine came through in about 4 weeks and so I didn’t really prepare to receive the news. I...

Feeling weird for a week and then OK after changing Levemir Flexi Pen

I think you are right. I was peeing a lot too which was a symptom for me in the months leading up to my diagnosis.

Feeling weird for a week and then OK after changing Levemir Flexi Pen

Thanks for the advice. I will get back into the swing of testing rather than sailing on regardless. No other medications, just alcohol and lots of fresh air

Feeling weird for a week and then OK after changing Levemir Flexi Pen

Thanks for replying. I was stupid not to test. I think I was going through a mini denial and scared to test in case I had shot right up to levels that tell me the honeymoon period might be over.

Feeling weird for a week and then OK after changing Levemir Flexi Pen

I am type 1.5 LADA for last 18 months. I take 7 units of basal insulin once a day using Levemir Flexi Pen and have been generally been feeling fine for the past year since using it. I keep it in the fridge until I need a new one and then discard after a month Last week I felt really weird...

Riding 100 miles for Diabetes UK at end of July in the Prudential Ride London 2017

This is third time lucky for me in this event having missed the previous two with late injuries. I was lucky enough to get a ballot entry this year and had decided not to fundraise as I have previously, but coming back from a 100 mile round trip to Ditchling this week I got chatting to a bloke...

How much Levemir are you taking?

Thanks for sharing this. There is certainly huge variation in what we are all taking isn't there. I switched from top of leg to my stomach as I didn't seem to have enough flesh there. I too have the slim thing. I don't get lumps just an occasional bruise and once scarily a bit of blood but...
