    Type 1 Diabetic Retinopathy?

Since yesterday morning I have had this black dot in my vision (like a floater but persistent). I haven’t had good eye sight since I changed my glasses. I don’t know if they’re too strong but everything is blurry. I haven’t had a Diabetic Eye Screening since 2018, due to having a bad flare up...

    I’m confused...

Hi I am getting confused over the Covid vaccine as I did go on the calculator and it said either 2nd feb or 5th feb when I’d get my first dose. But when should I expect to hear? I’ve heard different things and it’s all confusing me and my mum. I know over 70s and extremely vulnerable people at...

I’ve just went on there and they’ve had to stop accepting donations due to the pandemic. I may email them and ask when they will open up the donations again. Thanks

    Type 1 Unwanted diabetes supplies

I have a lot of unneeded diabetes supplies like lancets, pen needles. The doctors won’t take them and I don’t know what to do with them. Just wondered if anyone knew where I could take them as I don’t really need them anymore as I have enough and it’s taking up space as it’s nearly a whole bag...

    Type 1 Hypos and hunger?

I’ve been having a lot of hypos and I’ve noticed that I’m never hungry I never have had that symptom of hunger. I don’t know if this is normal and forgot to ask at my appointment. When I go into a hypoglycaemic episode I don’t want to eat, I just want to go to sleep and tend to push food away...

    Don’t know what’s going on?

Who knows? They always find some error. She will speak up because she knows it’s better for her to talk than me as I can get angry so it’s best to leave her to do it.

    Don’t know what’s going on?

My sugars have been all over the place in recent weeks. From going really low to 2.3 and then going up really high to where the meter just says ‘HI’ and sometimes in the middle. I really don’t know what’s going on because I don’t eat much and sometimes I’m too sick to eat or drink. Don’t know if...

Type 1 How do I go about a second opinion?

I’ve received some devastating news in the past few weeks about my bladder. I was catheterised in January this year and they’ve now told me they can’t find anything wrong as my kidneys/ovaries/bladder/urine is all “normal” but your bladder doesn’t just stop working at 23 years old. I can still...

    MRI and Freestyle Libre

I’m having a MRI on Sunday for my EPI and I’m just worried about my sensor if I’d have to take it off? It’s ended it’s 2 weeks but I don’t know if I should keep it off and carry on or risk putting new one on and having to take it off before the mri as I think it’s a waste any advice?

    Is this normal?

I go high and low constantly probably due to stress and my other illnesses so sometimes I can be really high and other times I can go extremely low. Last time I had a bad hypo I didn’t feel shaky until it got to 3.1

    Is this normal?

Last night I had a blood glucose reading of 5.2 and I was very dizzy and shaky. I’m wondering if this is normal as I know if it’s 4 or under it’s a hypo, but is it normal to shake and feel dizzy at 5.2mmol?

Did I have diabetes a year before I was diagnosed?

I just thought of this, this morning, but I remembered a year before I was diagnosed with type one diabetes I lost so much weight without having to diet or exercise. I lost 10lb in a matter of days, I was also drinking family size bottles of fizzy and filling them up with squash and drinking...

Type 1 After effects of a bad hypo?

Last night I had a bad hypo, my body wasn’t responding to the sweets and went so low to the point that the machine said “LO”. We had to call an ambulance as I kept trying to go to sleep instead of treating it. I was panicked as I thought I was going to die. This morning my body aches, I had...

Type 1 Why can’t you inject until 4 hours?

I don’t understand which I should, having diabetes for 3 years. But why can’t you? What about correction doses? I’m mostly running high but with having the Freestyle Libre I’m checking constantly and need to have correction doses but my nurse told me I can’t do it for 4 hours? Help?

    CGM question..

I’m getting my CGM fitted next Thursday, which I am really excited for, but it’s only for 3 months to find out what’s going on at night as I seem to go extremely low in the middle of the night and no one knows why. After the 3 months if I’ve gotten on well with it and have better control over...

    Tips?

I’ve just been approved for a 3 month trial of the cgm. I’m a bit worried about how to keep it on and baths, and I’ve seen some pictures of where people have put it on and it’s started bleeding. So wondering if anyone has any tips, on how to keep it on and all that? I’m very excited as I’ve...
