Poor little Birdie! S/he is so cute, thanks for sharing the photo. I hope s/he makes it - is it possible to take it to a vet or get a wildlife rescue involved if its condition deteriorates?

Pancreas decided to function today...4.9 after breakfast so far I have eaten a packet of chips, a chocolate-coated chocolate ice cream and 3 juice boxes without bolusing. Put temp basal on -20%, annoying because I am without a dexcom sensor for the next few hours while it wakes up.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Little high during the night, then coming down to 5.2 around 5am, sip of juice, up to 8.1, bolus, down to 5.6 at breakfast time. :) I guess I'll put that down as a smiley face?

    Missed My Basal Purposly

14 is still dangerously high (high enough that, having spent a long time at that value and not getting your insulin, you should be testing for ketones). Do you have ketone strips?

Boo, night time hypos always suck. Enjoy your sunny (and hopefully hypo free) day! :)

I like the idea of this thread! Today I successfully showered without upsetting my nearly-peeled-off dexcom sensor! Woohoo! (It needs to live for 1 more day before sensor change.)

Perfect numbers for the last few hours, nice and flat in the 5's. 5.7 fasting :)

Good luck for your ECG! I had one a while ago, the connecting stickers kept falling off but it got there in the end. (Not due to body hair as I am female, but maybe I was sweating a bit or something). Hope everything works for you this time!

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Hugs! My numbers also get a bit funny if I don't get enough sleep. Which means I have to stay up late the next day making sure they're ok...which means I don't sleep enough and my numbers are funny...round and round in a loop forever. Hope you get to bed early tonight and break the cycle! :)

    Basal Into Capillary

When I was on lantus, I hit a capillary in my thigh once and it was totally fine. Blood, but no weird numbers. Asked my doctor after and she said capillaries are fine.

5.4 :) My dexcom sensor decided to expire at 4:30am in the morning

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.1 :) Night was much improved, especially in the 1am-6pm period where I was in range with no corrections needed. Slowly getting the basal back on track!

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.9 I have had the worst 24 hours, including three sudden drops in my sleep (one of them a mid 3's hypo), blood sugars that wouldn't go up in the morning, and ridiculous highs and rollercoasters in the afternoon. My basal is completely out of whack (stupid honeymoon period) and I'm exhausted...

PSA: Watch out for seat belts!

That's unfortunate. Have you noticed the problem is any better when wearing more layers of clothing? I don't worry about my sensor as much when I have a couple of jumpers on top of it, but obviously this isn't practical all year round.

PSA: Watch out for seat belts!

Yes it only gave the error once and we weren't in the car for very long anyway so I'm sure the high wasn't from missed insulin. Do you find that jeans alone cause problems for you, or is it only an issue in combination with the belt?
