Anyone else having issues with DVLA?

I contacted my MP who wrote to the DVLA which helped move things along, but there was a big delay. It took the DVLA about 3 months before they even started the checks with my GP.

    DVLA!!

I've had to contact my MP. The DVLA did nothing with my application for 6 months and only did so when my MP contacted them. DVLA received my forms on 22 September 2021 and only contacted my GP on 31st March 2022. I have MS as well so bit more complicated but never taken this long to sort my licence.

    DVLA & GP Delays

DVLA received my medical licence renewal on 20th September 2021 and only because I asked my MP to intervene did they send a letter to my GP 6 months later on 31st March 2022. Nothing's happened with my GP as this is not classed as NHS work, so the 12 months under section 88 is quickly running...

Confused after switching from Lantus to Tresiba

Hi @michael_n before the pump I switched from Lantus to Tresiba, took a bit of tweaking (well, doesn't everything diabetes-related), but I was having highs in the mornings like you, which I was frustrated abut as this was the reason why I switched. I ended up moving to an evening dose of...

thought about the fact I've never been treated by a female diabetes consultant in the last 30 years at the same hospital and today, my video call appointment was with a new female consultant. Nice to see a new face.

    Trigger Fingers - Physio?

Hi I've been referred to physio for trigger finger and thumb as I want to avoid steroid injections for as long as possible. Just thinking though, how would physio work as I can't bend my ring finger and the issues are, luckily, intermittent at the moment. Is physio worth it?

Really high reading hours after food ?

maybe basal adjustment, or meals with high fat slow down the absorption of the carbs, leading to a rise after the initial spike.

Underactive thyroid - how difficult is this to diagnose?

hi @DCUKMod thank you so much for your response, it's great detail and really helps! I double checked the range for the antibodies test on my results and it's 0.1-9, so interesting that yours are very different. One of my questions back to the GP. SF 36 questionnaire - looking into it now. Much...

Underactive thyroid - how difficult is this to diagnose?

thanks @sleepster & @DCUKMod really good advice. I know it takes some time to diagnose. I went for years without realising I was experiencing symptoms of MS (thinking everything was diabetes related) so determined to get a diagnosis ASAP. I'll persevere with the GP.

Underactive thyroid - how difficult is this to diagnose?

I pushed for a referral to an endo which was due this month, but it was cancelled due to the lock down. Symptoms: acne forever (I'm now 42 and it's still a problem), fatigue, irregular periods, brittle dry hair and hair loss, feel the cold massively, like, can't get warm when everyone in the...

    Thrush

for a 3 year period I had constant thrush and a recurring boil in my left armpit. I took flucanzole tablets which worked, but as my blood sugar levels were all over the place, I couldn't get rid of it. When I went low carb/keto in August 2016 and my blood sugars normalised, I've not had any...

    MS and type 1

Hi @Mmaabb welcome to the forum! I found it very difficult to find others with MS too, when I was first diagnosed with RRMS three years ago. There are a few of us though... I've had the joy of T1D for 27 years and MS was a shock as I put all the symptoms - pins and needles, being 'clumsy' - down...
