    Success

Hi Folks, I joined this forum about 6 months ago and I thought I would update on my success. I went to the DSN there in Nov/Dec and had my HBA1C taken and my weight. Thanks to the people here for advocating carb reduction I have restricted myself to a diet of 120 carbs per day but they can be...

    Why Not Insulin

I agree completely - Its about finding the balance as some have said they wished the Acted Earlier and I really feel for them but it also means I should pull my finger out and head these peoples warnings!

    Why Not Insulin

See this is what I project is a concern is it possible for a Cell to become 100% resistant to Insulin? What is more concerning is that Type 2 people diagnosed young could have a worse time than their Fellow T1 as like some have mentioned here that they take more Bolus than their T1...

    Why Not Insulin

I understand this but then given that some T2 end up on Insulin why not allow them to take long acting as lets face it if you were stable for many years then your pancreas might not give up and complications would also be kept to a minimum. My levels reside around 4.5 - 6 and 7 - 8 30 mins to 1...

    Why Not Insulin

Hey, I am wondering - Why does the Doctor not prescribe Insulin to a Type 2 diabetic with good control to allow their pancreas a rest or to at the very least reduce the blood sugar with a small long acting dose? I have fairly good control but I am aware that my levels still get up as high as 7...

    Diabetes Cures

For those of you who arent believing in a cure for T1 and T2 lets take a look at what advances have came in the last 20 years or so. In medical advances there have some of these. Diabetes Cures

I get your sentiment however Blood sugars rise differently for different people so Low Carbing isnt always the way forward. If you have Stage 3 CKD you should stop eating Protein which is a primary helper in LCHF. Sugar is still a way of life and weather we like it nor not Manufacturers are...

    Diabetes Cures

Hi Folks, There seems to be this year a massive number of successes in Diabetic cures and I believe with the Crispr being able to modify all cells that we might just have a chance of us all being cured. Heres something promising ...

    Diabetes is not a Disease

Actualy I tend to agree those of us lucky enough to catch their T2 early can kick it back a notch. For example I just had Indian food nearly 1 hour out but 30 minutes from stopping eating?? I was reading 7.7 I decided to go for a 30 - 40 minute walk and when I came back my readings were 4.8 I...

    Amazing

@SockFiddler perhaps I got it wrong - Though your Hypo could be induced due to the Mediciation you are on. A T2 cannot get a Hypo without Medication or Insulin. Metformin what I am on will never give a hypo. I read the Liver dumps glucose when it gets too low in a T2 to prevent this...

    Amazing

She even said an HBA1C below 51 - 50 is fine. I recorded the whole thing on my phone as I've had enough of NHS lies I know their under pressure but saying things just to get patients out the door is wrong!. I will never be back with advice like hers. I do worry about the amount of Elderly and...

    Amazing

Its the fact she was so robotic about it like not even swaying her opinion. People on here say their nurses and dieteicians say the truth but this one literally repeated 4 - 5 times the NHS eatwell. She even told me to cut down on protein!

    Amazing

Hey Folks, Went to my First Appointment with the Dietician she was a young girl early 30s and she started asking What type of Diet are you on presently. I said that I was on LCHF and she looked at me as if I had two heads. I explained to her that given that I am 29 years old and will live...

    Curious question

Id guess they are NOT at risk of complications as Diabetic complications stem from Blood sugar increase. From what I understand as the sugar increase decreases oxygen and other components that are critical to blood. Imagine having blood like water then 10% of that being honey thats the same...

    Diabetes and Kidney disease

I dont know about this - The more protein on a LCHF Diet the harder kidneys have to work to remove it. Meaning that you could get a false positive.
