Diabetes symptoms after insuline injection in non-diabetic

Hi @Dio2 and welcome to the forum. I don’t see how your current symptoms can be attributed to the single shot of long acting insulin. Long acting insulin does not last 5 months! Your symptoms do sound like those you could get with diabetes but we can’t diagnose. I really think you should go back...

I have heard of Dr Unwin and his work, infact I met him once at a DCUK event a couple of years ago, he is such a knowledgeable man and a joy to listen too. Type 2 relatively newly diagnosed

We are all told it’s not necessary but loads of us have gone against this advice. We have to self fund testing of course as the NHS won’t fund us. I can give you some info about meters if you decide to go down that route.

    Type 2 relatively newly diagnosed

I agree with @mouseee , Metformin alone will not get your blood sugars down to acceptable levels. Well done for giving chocolate and cakes the heave ho, but you need to look at carbohydrates in your diet, not just obvious sugars. Can you give examples of what meals you would have in a typical...

How often should I have blood tests?

I have mine done twice a year and that’s what NICE recommends for type 2s. They say “Measure HbA1c levels at 3–6 monthly intervals until the HbA1c is stable on unchanging treatment, then at 6-monthly intervals” Here’s the link to the NICE website...
