    Accidental overdose of fiasp

Hey everyone, thank you for all your help last night. I kept an eye on it for several hours and didn’t allow it to drop too much, it was a great excuse to eat chocolate. But lesson learnt. From here I’m interested in learning how to work out my insulin to carb ratio as when I inject 1 unit for...

    Accidental overdose of fiasp

I’ve been getting treated for type 2 for the last 5 years, and testing has revealed I’m type one. I don’t know what my insulin to carb ratio is, I believe my diabetic nurse said the general rule is 1 unit per 10g carb. I generally take about 25 units as my levels are always high. I’m currently...

    Accidental overdose of fiasp

I’ve just accidentally injected 50 units of my fast acting insuli fiasp, thinking it was my long acting. Anything lose to do other than overload with sugar? I need to go to bed but my libre tends to lose connection at night so I’m a tad concerned

    Weight issues…

That’s what I was diagnosed as, haven’t used this forum for years so haven’t changed it. I’m still struggling to believe I’m a T1, T2 seems far more likely.

    Weight issues…

Bit of backstory to start. I was diagnosed in 2015 at 26. At the time I was told there wasn’t a particular test to see if it was type one or type two, but it was likely to be type 2 as I was massively overweight at 19-20 stone (5ft 6 woman). I proceeded to lose 6+ stone in just over a year...

Your longest period without testing & why ?

I go months without testing, purely because if my blood sugar is really high it makes me really depressed so I’d rather not know. :(

Over the last few days my blood sugar is running higher than usual, I’m not doing/eating anything different to usual so really confused as to why it’s running so high, I haven’t got a cold and don’t feel unwell at all.

    Is control easier with insulin?

Is insulin really only used as a last resort in type 2? Ive had trouble with control since diagnosis, only with being on the high side really. I had my testing strips taken off my prescription months ago as I dont qualify for them being a type 2. So nowadays I test very rarely with the...

Accu-Chek Performa Nano - strange readings

I have been using an accuchek nano since dianosis. The other day I took a reading, then decided to take another straight after just to make sure, and the readings differ. For example, I've just taken 4 readings from the same needle prick, all within a minute, the first came in at 14.7, the...

    Metformin... again!

Update... Ive not been told to stop my metformin and gliclazide and been given a medication called Janumet, which i was pleased about until I realised its still primarily metformin! Worried now that its going to give me stomach problems, I've just this second taken my first tablet.

    Metformin... again!

I was put on 500mg (twice a day) of metformin when I was diagnosed, gave me awful stomach issues so I was changed onto 750mg slow release (once a day). Had my first diabetic review yesterday, hba1c 101! Nurse said she would change my metformin and has given me 850mg (twice a day) but I...

    Not coping

Wow thanks so much for all these replies. Everyone is so nice on here! Now we're into January I need to go back to the diabetic nurse for a blood test (argh needle phobic!) initially on diagnosis the nurse wanted me on a much higher dose of metformin but because I was eating well and being good...
