    Insulin pump - Disneyland Paris

hi Has anyone been recently with a pump? I’m not sure what the security procedure into the park now is, definitely x ray bags and have metal detectors. Do they have body scanners too? Feeling a bit stressed that it’s going to be like going through the airport every day, possibly multiple times a...

I am so fed up with the effect of stress on my blood sugars.

Thank you. It is done but it doesn’t change anything does it. I’m still a criminal. They told us we were idiot drivers... Seriously I’m a waste of nhs resource. I would like my bloods to settle down though. They’ve been slightly better today but I think maybe the tonsillitis isn’t helping...

I’m a waste of nhs resource. It’ll go eventually.

I am so fed up with the effect of stress on my blood sugars.

Probably not. Just a shame I didn’t wrap my car round a lamppost whilst driving too fast really. Would have solved lot of problems. I bet the people who run these courses are disgusted by the people attending. I would be.

Maybe but I wouldn’t want to get up in front of anyone. Anyway I deserve to feel ill so it’s fine.

I am so fed up with the effect of stress on my blood sugars.

Blood sugar was 5.3 when I got up an hour ago, it’s now risen (despite a higher basal and a bolus) to 16... I’m thirsty but don’t dare drink because of this course, I’m not sure I will be able to go to the ladies. It’s my throat that’s getting me down, I haven’t been to the dr’s but I know it’s...

The difference is that my family would be better off without me. I’m glad things improved for you though.

I am so fed up with the effect of stress on my blood sugars.

I just honestly feel like there’s not much point in carrying on. I just get up in the morning, babysit my blood sugars, drag myself through the day and wait until I can go back to bed because at least when I’m asleep I don’t feel unhappy. Sigh.

I am so fed up with the effect of stress on my blood sugars.

Hi I posted before about being a total moron and speeding - thus having to attend a course. My course is tomorrow and in addition to this my MiL is not well and is likely to receive a lung cancer diagnosis tomorrow. And I have bacterial tonsillitis. All of these factors have combined to...

    T1 Prescriptions refused

4 times a day isn’t enough. Do you drive? You are meant to test every time you drive for a start. That’s crazy. Can you contact NICE or diabetes UK. Morning blood test, before lunch, before dinner, after dinner, before bed, in the night, each time you drive. That would be my minimum - and...

    How do people manage swimming?

Thank you. And will they definitely not let any water in? God I hate my life depending on machinery!

    How do people manage swimming?

My pump is supposedly water resistant but it feels wrong drowning it? Like putting my mobile phone in! I wish I had a pod instead of a Medtronic. No tubing then either. But my hospital gives no other options. What waterproof pack do people recommend?

    How do people manage swimming?

Yes but not in the summer. Also it means I feel left out all the time because there’s nothing else to do. It just gets me down. Everyone else will be enjoying themselves, swimming and eating and drinking what they like. It just amplifies that I’m different and don’t get to do that.

    How do people manage swimming?

I just don’t eat so that stops that’s variable. I run high because of the gaps in basal I presume. I’ve been swimming for an hour today. I was 7.3 on getting in and 5.3 in getting out. I had the missing basal when I got out and was ok for two hours but two and a half hours later I’ve hit 17...

    How do people manage swimming?

We’ve got two ‘pool’ type holidays this year and I’m dreading it. It’s just a nightmare with the taking the pump on and and off to go in the pool. I end up with random high blood sugars and not able to eat anything. I’m only going because my husband wants to and my children. We usually only go...

    Ideas for a lean pumper?

I’m struggling. I’ve lost a lot of weight and my bmi is now 18 so I’m slim. I’ve been using a pump for 11 years and have only ever managed to have success with cannulas on my stomach. I’ve tried every set going and have been using the sure-ts for about a year which were initially better as at...

Stress - can’t get sugars down

I’ve been up since 3am with my daughter who has a sickness bug - which no doubt I will also get now. Still better now than in three weeks time on my course day. I don’t know what I’d do if it happened then. That worries me as well. I couldn’t leave her with anyone today - she’s still being sick...
