    640g phase out?

Hello I’m due to start the Medtronic minimed 640g in the first week of October but I’ve heard that it’s being phased out and it’s being replaced with the 670g. Is this true? I’m part of the Facebook diabetes community too and I seem to see a lot of UK ppl moving off of the 640 to the 670g...

    Pump funding for 1 year

Yeah I was so confused as I knew that people say funding is always 4 years long It makes sense that they do reviews after 1 year though!!

    Approved for a pump but...

Haha not too sure what happened in the thread but it is quite relevant with me choosing a pump! But thank you, once I’ve chosen I’ll say so on this thread [emoji38].

    Approved for a pump but...

I’m hoping to loop, so would the 640g not be a good option? I’ve already started looking into the miaomiao and Riley link prices as I’d want to loop as quite soon when I get my pump.

    Pump funding for 1 year

So I’ve been awarded pump funding but on the letter it says for a year. Does this mean I’ll only have the pump for a year or is this how funding is usually given? Is this how they do the funding for people without a very strong case? I’m sure it’s supposed to be for 4 years? I feel like we...

    Approved for a pump but...

Thanks for your reply! I think I’ll have to try out a demo pod to see what it really feels like under clothes. I’ve been trying to decide for weeks now and I still don’t know which one. I’ve got to be sensible about it as I have a work uniform and I don’t want it to look strange haha! But thank...

@ruby_jane26 this seems to be a copy of the thread you started yesterday: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/approved-for-a-pump-but.165547/#post-2078913 If you would like your original pump moved you can ask one of the moderators. I see @Diakat, @DCUKMod and @Juicyj are all online at the...

    Approved for a pump but...

Hello All I have been approved for a pump and I have to choose between omnipod and Medtronic 640g (however I’m going to ask about the 670g). My nurse told me that she only just realised that a letter had been sitting with my file in the office that said I’d been approved since April but only...

Feeling upset and lonely about type 1

Not rude at all haha, I’m 19 so not too much younger than when you were diagnosed. I have injections at the moment (pump funding case has been put in so I’m waiting for the outcome) and I use a Libre. I’m glad you understand as you can see from both viewpoints. I think dropping carbs would be...

Feeling upset and lonely about type 1

Haha yes now come to think of it, calorie counting is old school. I think making my own meals is the way to go- I’ll be in control of that at least. Thank you for the encouragement!

Feeling upset and lonely about type 1

So I was diagnosed in 2017 with type 1 and since the beginning I’ve had to deal with it in my own (as I should, right haha). My nurse wasn’t always there and my mum is and was quite helpless with it all. I haven’t had support with this and even when eating normally I’ve gained weight - over a...

    HBA1C + Pump (possibly)

Wow, what area are you in? I’m struggling with being in insulin pens and I keep having frequent hypos with reduced basal and impaired hypo awareness. A pump may be beneficial and I’m looking into changing to a pump friendly clinic.
