Good morning :) I hope you're all well. 4.5 this morning. Had another hypo of 2.8 last night at work...lowest it's ever been. Felt very dizzy but had my orange & carbs and felt fine 20 mins later. Can having a long day (was out 16 hours) and feeling tired cause a hypo?

I've only been on gliclazide about a month so haven't had a test yet to see my overall level but I test 4 times a day and they are normally between 4-7. I've had a few hypos (originally started on 40mg..too much so lowered) lowest being 2.8. Thankfully I only seem to be having a hypo 1 a week.

I'm sure your doctor will fill you in more :) make sure they give you a blood testing machine too as it can sometimes cause hypos. 20mg is a smaller dose though. What type of mody do you have? I'm 1a.

About a month ago I started 20mg gliclazide as well. The only thing I would say with it is not to skip meals and eat regularly x

So it's my friends 30th tonight and we are off to Frankie and benny's for a meal. There will also be alcohol too and I'm worried sick. I don't want to be a party pooper but I don't want to have a hypo too as heard this can happen if you drink too much with gliclazide. This is my first time going...

Good morning everyone :) 4.7 this morning. My BG dropped twice to 3.9 yesterday. I don't think it went much above 5 all day. Hopefully today is a better day.

Are you on gliclazide now? Thankfully my DN wouldn't let me start the drug without a machine. I'm only on 20mg 4 days a week at the moment...which is good as when this drug eventually stops working I will have to go onto insulin.
