Hybrid Closed Loop - high BG management recommendations

A few have mentioned about correcting with HCL and being told that you should not correct as it can upset the pump's calculations. Here is the guidance from DTN UK, very useful in that it details how to correct when high or unwell...

    t:slim remote bolusing

Just seen a post from a USA based t:slim user, saying that the latest IOS update (17.1 ?) allows him to remote bolus via his iPhone (think this might be tandem connect which is only USA based at present). Lets hope that tandem can roll this out to other regions soonest.

Glooko on iMac for Dexcom and t:slim

At last Glooko is working on my iMac, its been more than a year since I could last download. Still takes 10 mins to register password then at least 10 more mins to download pump data, patience of a saint is needed. Anyone running an iMac with Ventura should be able to get it working. Did have to...

Nice approvals for CGM and Looping too

See extract below from my consultant, from April 22 NICE have agreed to all T1's having access to CGM. Also it seems that soon there will be news on looping too so hopefully the stronger algorithms (like the Cambridge and DIY) will be released by others. Woo hoo ............

t:slim is pushing up the daisies.

Yesterday my t:slim gave me an altitude alarm, whilst on the phone to supplier it recovered so it was left as is but today it died for good, the new one arrives tomorrow. I was told the new one would be fully pre-set up for me with my latest profiles and settings which made me think they must be...

    50 years and counting

Just did a bit of checking dates and history to discover that I'd passed the 50 year milestone in December 2020, so this month its 50 years. Its amazing how life has changed over this time, from glass syringes, stainless needles and chemical kit for testing urine to today where I've got a CGM...

    t:slim remote via phone

The t:slim remote app has been released in the USA, does not yet allow dosing but shows all pump data and cgm so looks like the Dexcom app may not be needed (unless you have followers).

    Kaleido Pump

Is anyone else using this new (ish) pump yet ? any thoughts ? From first impressions it looks like it would be good, its tiny, got a 200ml reservoir, takes any short acting, can be body mount patched or pocketed either with cannula. Does not do stacked bolus's like the Insight but other than...

    Charging the Insight handset

Hi all I've been having issues finding ways to charge my Insight handset, no matter what I've tried I can only get it to charge from a mains or car 12v socket where the USB power is less than 1W (or is managed). I've never been able to use a computer USB or a battery pack when travelling. I...

Libre - will it really be on the NHS

This week I spoke to my consultant and asked him about the Libre, I'm using the Dexcom but getting close to retirement and wondered if in a year or two I might move over to something like the Libre that the NHS would fund. His reply was that Abbott had taken an extreme liberty implying that the...

    Flying via Heathrow (body scanner)

I fly quite a lot, last weekend was the first time that I'd approached the security check in term 2 to be faced with a body scanner. I told the staff that I had an insulin pump and did not want to go through the body scanner, they asked me to step to one side then the manager came over and...
