    Insulin smell strong or not ?

    I find that novorapid has a strong smell similar to surgical spirit. I guess that i'm so used to it now that it doesn't really bother me.

    Yes I agree iHs, I have read quite a few of the posts on the forum regarding the various problems people have experienced. I feel deep down that lantus could well be responsible. I'm planning to try and convince the Diabetes Clinic of this and hope that I'll be able to try another insulin.

    Alcohol

    Yes I think that's good advice. I myself had a few sudden hypos the following day. Seemed to be particularly severe when I started taking taking lantus. I think that drinking in moderation is important.

    Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

    My last Hba1c was 36 which converts to 5.4%. I'm generally below 6.2% on average, but it's not easy :)
