    Chinese Food

I find the beef & mushroom or chicken &mushroom (or either with vegetables) to not be so bad for my levels. I sometimes do have a small amount of rice, especially if it is fried. Ribs are ok - but check if they are in sauce. That can be the problem with ribs.sometimes the sauces area quite...

Type 2 Thinking of moving to s Ireland do I have to pay for my diabetes prescriptions?

I was diagnosed T2 whilst working in Ireland.m My GP visits cost me 50 euros a time and blood tests 30 euros every time. This was back in 2013 so prices will have gone up. I did manage to get an LTI card which gave me my strips and tablets free, but other prescriptions still had to be paid for...

    Gliclazide effects

I put on a stone on glicizide (minimal dose) and suffered massive depression/ suicidal thoughts on this drug before coming off it. At my latest check up the DSN said she wished doctors would stop prescribing it. I was (and still low carbing) with approx 30 mins exercise each day (running) and I...

    Anyone on glimepiride?

On it as well, but minimal dose. Had to argue with doc to halve the medication of this & Metformin, but don't seem to have experienced any massive lows. It was a vast improvement over glicizide, which is what I was on before. That drug nearly killed me with it's side effects.

    totally at a loss

Definitely not a con, as it brought my numbers down quite significantly when diagnosed. What did take me longer was fine tuning the lchf so that weight loss occured and to keep my mindset happy with the change in food types on offer via the diet. I kept battling with the carb flu - aches &...

Diluting juice with NO ADDED SUGAR

I went for a quick rootless on our friend Google for "homemade sugar free drinks" and the first website threw up some reasonable alternatives. Although Australian so ingredients mentioned are not all available in the UK, there will be equivalents here. I thought most of them were do-able...

Type 1 Is there someone I can talk to privately?

@Alex_B Mums can be horrible sometimes and I have been there in my childhood so you are not alone. But please try to find someone to talk to and like now. The Samaritans is a good idea or if you have a friend /friends mum you can trust, talk to them. Depending on how old you are a school...

Is there a list of GPs with "modem views"?

I am not sure what a "modem" view is but if you are thinking of changing doctors you can use the NHS Choices website to look at the options available in your area. The surgeries are listed, along with what services may be available and rating as to how good they are. These ratings are based on...
