    Medtronic 780G Update!

Hi, it’s on auto mode. We’ve discovered the ‘suspend’ action is linked to the Auto Suspend function on the pump and not related to ‘Suspend Before Low’. I’ve changed the Auto Suspend setting (comes under Device Settings) to 6 hours now which works very well. I initially had problems with the...

    Medtronic 780G Update!

Wow Marco, very impressive TIR numbers! I’ve only managed 70% so far. Like you, I love this pump. The only issue I’ve had so far is the ‘Suspend Before Low’ action which seems to only kick in at night. Even when my BG is at 10, not falling rapidly and nowhere near the low range, the SBL is...

    Where do you inject?

Hi Scttnicholls, I'm T1 & only inject in my thighs & bottom now as I had problems injecting into my stomach. The fast acting insulin is absorbed much quicker from the stomach sites so you have to eat immediately after administering it. I use Apidra SoloStar, what do you have?

Help with a new insulin pen

Hi worcesterwoman, I too use Apidra & Lantus Solostar. I don't have a problem generally with the pens however I have had a couple of faulty ones. No matter how hard I pushed the end it would not dispense the insulin so I just binned it & used a new one. My needles are BD Microfine Ultra 4mm/32g...

Symptoms with moderately high bs readings?

Hi Mikeee, I get this quite frequently when I've eaten out or am on holiday & not able to stick to my normal eating routine. It usually starts with feeling really hot then waves of 'strangeness' pass over me in 20 minute intervals. This continues until my BS returns to below 8. :? Poppy

Just a quick note:- Ketones build up when there is insufficient insulin to help fuel the body’s cells. Ketones are more common in people with type 1 diabetes AND people with advanced type 2 diabetes.

    Festivals

Re: Festivals Hi Heather 77, I too go to lots of festivals & keep my insulin in a FRIO cooling wallet. It's very effective & keeps insulin at about room temp even when it's very hot outside. A medic tag and lots of gluco tabs are also essential. Have fun!! :)

Picci, is your Levemir the same as Lantus long acting insulin? I only have 1 injection per day so do you think this diet would be suitable for me? Thanks. :?
