    PROFUSE SWEATING IN THE HEAD/NECK

I suffer terribly from profuse sweating. The head, neck, chest and upper back are the issues for me. My armpits for instance, which you would expect to be affected are not! It's embarrassing for me at times as my head sweats like someone has turned a hosepipe on! I've found it to be worse when...

    Hmph....

Sometimes NicolaAnne I feel like just dropping it all and not bothering at all, the daily routine of blood testing and then the injections, these seem to rule my life. I'd love to be able to pour myself a big glass of regular Coca-Cola and guzzle it down. I get days when I think of things like...

Living with a partner with uncontrolled type 2 diabetes

Hi Molly, as others have said, it sounds to me like your partner is suffering depression. Everything fits, stating in bed, too tired to do anything, little interest in life etc. He is stuck in a cycle of not controlling his diabetes because he's depressed and so his diabetes gets worse making...

    Am I entitled?

The problem with the assessments is they are allegedly done by health-care professionals. They are not, the people doing these are are not even able to prescribe a pain killer let alone your ability to work. The questions are a yes or no, and no grey areas. My partner for instance is clinically...

I have suffered for a year with terrible itching on the top sides of my hands, from the wrists to the knuckles. Tiny blister followed by sores due to scratching. Hi, I am new here

Hi Debbie, have you not seen a dietician? Or an appointment to see one? If not ask to see one. I found it very helpful and informative, I was amazed at the different forms sugar comes in and the foods you don't suspect to contain sugar. I found my care from my diabetic clinic to be first class...

    just diagnosed and confused

I would say HbA1c of 69 is indicative of diabetes. My first diagnosed mine was 128, after 4 months it was 65 which my consultant said was still a little too high. With that in mind it would suggest 69 is too!

    Putting your GP on trial

Several months before diagnosis I kept going to my doctor with blurred vision. He said it was a sight problem, I questioned why my vision when I got up in the morning was perfect, but he insisted I see an optician. My eye test came back as perfect 20/20 vision. I could even read the smallest...

    Do you feel your Diabetes?

Hi, yes I feel high blood sugars. The first sign is slightly blurred vision that comes on quickly. The second sign is a kind of giddy feeling, others may indicate I'm being a little excitable. The third is a slight frontal headache that doesn't lift with painkillers. If I get any of the above I...

    Skin infections

That That's just it I don't go out in public when the sores are open and weeping. Once they scab up I feel I can go out but they look just as bad in this state. As for infectious, if they were my family would have the same. As for infection, I keep them clean and use medical alcohol wipes on...

    Skin infections

Thanks all for your replies. My main concern for my hands is that it's very unsightly, I get sick of people asking what's wrong with them, not only that but in shops I see cashier's giving me my change grimace at the sight of them. I just hope it doesn't return!
