    Introduction and interest in diabetes

@Richard 2024 I am impressed. This is the first time I have read a thread from a coach or trainer who actually understands T2 diabetes. Thank you

    2023/24 Football Season.

Yep. Really sad about it. I remember being there with my boys when FGR were promoted to the Conference (National League) sorry to see them go back there. It wasn't a good weekend for Leeds or Arsenal either.

T2 or NAFLD? ...or, a funny thing happened on the way to the surgery

I agree. My husband wasn't ready to reduce carbs when he was diagnosed with fatty liver. He took alot of persuading. However the results after 5 weeks showed him the truth.

T2 or NAFLD? ...or, a funny thing happened on the way to the surgery

Yes, I have the same problem. The notion that dietary fat makes you fat is a strong one and I can see people don't believe that I increased fat (and calories) and lost weight. So I tend to keep quiet now. I was clearing out a bookcase this week and found a book which I had purchased in the...

I really think this is my last chance of recovering somewhat

Have you had your vit B12 and vit D levels checked? Low levels of either/both of these can cause depression. Re cbt. I found Emotional Freedom Techniques tapping much more useful. Google it. You start off with saying something like 'Even though I binge eat, I love and accept myself...'...

T2 or NAFLD? ...or, a funny thing happened on the way to the surgery

For me there was a link. When I introduced more saturated fat into my diet my cholesterol levels went down.

Libre 2 has some strange errors

Sensors only lasting 11 days and being unable to scan when I want to...'try later 'multiple times a day. Abbott have replaced a couple of sensors for me, but it's just too much trouble to keep contacting them. Technology that doesn't work all the time is useless.

Libre 2 has some strange errors

I never had any problems with the original Libre. Libre 2 is a nightmare. I don't bother with it anymore. I dislike ' new improved' things, they rarely are as good as the original.

Can intermittent fasting cause higher bs levels until you eat?

I usually find that a cup of tea with whole milk is enough to stop liver dump continuing.

    Manuka honey

I use it occasionally when I have a sore throat, but wouldn't use it to try to lower BG levels.

    Hello There

I prefer to eat 1 meal a day, with maybe 1 snack if I need it. BG levels fluctuate all the time. Fat is necessary for good health, it also helps to satisfy the appetite so that we feel less hungry.

    Carbs and calories book

I don't use sugar content, the carb total is the important one for us.

    Who knows what?

I had someone else's notes attached to mine. The doctor was adamant that I had epilepsy. I didn't.

    A Tiny Whinge

I felt belittled when people mentioned my weight/body shape. Sadly I sometimes feel the same way on this forum. People who have successfully lost weight (often at the first time of trying) tell me I can't count calories, eat too much, don't exercise enough etc. In other words it's all my...

    A Tiny Whinge

I remember one incident on a beach when I was 14 and wearing a bikini. I was slim, but pear shaped. A young woman in her early 20s walked past us and afterwards my aunt told me to walk away from where we were sitting, she then called me back and said she had wanted to make sure my bottom...

    A Tiny Whinge

@Antje77 I had an aunt like your first one too. It was she who got me hooked on calorie counting which only served to make things worse long-term. As I got older she wasn't so subtle. Thanks for posting, you have helped me more than you can know.
