    Carnivore Corner

I love short ribs and they are cheap. Bloke in Swansea market did the best ones, dry, yellow fat... Edited by mod to remove thinly disguised expletive

The simple things that make us happy.

Ha! Yep, I go along because the surgery get paid for it and I don’t want them to dictate to me how I manage my diabetes, it’s my job to tell them.

The simple things that make us happy.

Finding out that my new GP enables all my test results on Patient Access. What a happy bunny I am today, let's see what happens at my review with the nurse this afternoon, I have a habit of inadvertently upsetting them...

    Type 1 Abdominal/Back Muscles

Hi and welcome. Are you taking statins? Your HbA1c shows you are running high blood sugars, what drugs do you take and what do you eat?

    You can do this

I stand corrected thanks, I was thinking of brown bread but I think greatly reducing consumption of bread was the the effective bit, not changing the type.

Current NHS dietary advice for diabetes.....

@CatManRob I'm carnivore with an HbA1c of 27 so why should I not be eating meat and eggs? Peas beans and lentils would put me firmly in the diabetic range, make me ill, hungry and fat (and many other T2’s).

DSN "Advice" after low HbA1c results

I’m a med free T2 with my HbA1c at 27. They simply don’t believe I have diabetes, it’s impossible for them to consider that the work I do is what gives me that number, I have the same conversation with every single doc that calls me after every test with the same low result when they ask “who...

Local diabetes groups - do you attend?

I suppose it depends on what sort of personality and support someone can offer or needs. Groups like that have never appealed to me at all so something I’d not seek out unless I was a speaker or supporting someone else.

Yep, the meeting place, who’s attending and a chance to chat within the group.

    Bristol Carnivores.

Go to Meetup and search for Bristol Carnivores. I think it may have something to do with the false promises of saving the planet if we don’t eat things with faces but I can’t confirm this yet.
