Mixed feelings about 'Type One Talks' on YouTube

I ran into this channel recently in my attempt to connect my Libre 2 to the xDrip app....... I remeber seeing him going through his LibreLink logbook and all his readings were in the green......this can only really be achieved with a limited amount of carbs, which I am aware of, but I enjoy...

Anyone know the difference between too high basal insulin and bolus absobtion issues.

Ive not been to the forum in a while so apoligies for not knowing your history........ What basal are you on? It sounds split...... To determine if your basal dose is right the only thing to do is a carb free test...... Do you have hypo unawareness or have you had a bad experience in the past...

Type 1 unexplainable high blood sugar

If it repeats I would assume its the liver thats responsible.......ie dawn phenomenon/foot to the floor... DP/FTTF hormones like cortisol will also incease insulin resistance which makes your normail during the day corrections no use.... If it is liver related [testing required to confirm] you...

    Is this normal with pump?

It would be for me.... I tend to have an 80-90 over half of the next day ...but I have seen days where I reluctantly went out for walks after a night of drink and the lows come.... Your liver may also take it's time with the booze... I wouldn't worry though...less insulin is always a good thing...

Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and mental health

It seems perfectly normal to feel like that when you have more data at your finger tips....some people are just more prone to perfection than others... I actually experienced it slightly after DAFNE back in 09.... Since being on the pump and relaxing a bit, the move to a sensor was effortless...

    Feeling Despondent

Can you try putting a temp increase of the basal in the first instance, maybe 10 or 15% [assuming type 1] sick day rules are solely for the control of ketones......obviously having an intake of some cabrs will help stop any contribution from starvation ketones.....but it doesnt need to be a lot...

Blood Sugar Realities: How Good Are Your Sugars?

your Hb is decent enough......and spiking for short periods isn't such a big deal......and it sounds like you do know how to improve those spikes if you really wanted to...... So I think overall you're doing great...... try not to buy in to the whole social media scene......it can be so...

    Type 1 and Covid-19

No.... The high risk is basically due to the risk of ketones, the same as the flu would bring.... They don't contact you during the flu so wont be doing it with this I imagine....

    Corona virus

Sick day rules, which you may have realised by now are purely for the management of ketones........... you give your normal basal insulin, bolus insulin for any carbs you have, corrections for any high blood glucose and then every two to three hours additional bolus insulin for any ketones you...

When does BG peak after eating & spill into urine?

I usually expect the peak to happen round about the 90 minute mark..... I didn't think glucose spilled over at such low levels......I think everyone is different......15mmol i think is my threshold.....but I don't test my own urine glucose.... Why are you? Could the glucose in the urine be...

    Corona virus

Have you had the flu whilst diabetic.....? I know I have and although I felt terrible and couldn't stomach much food, I managed to keep levels stable and more importantly the ketones at bay.......with the sick day rules... I expect this virus to be exactly the same... Unless you have a lung...

Type 2 High Hba1c result with good exercise/diet

The meter is important as if you're active you will become naturally more sensitive to your own insulin, which means that you can strike a balance between the carbs in your diet.......a better balance than someone who inst as active..... so the meter should allow you to fine tune it all so you...

Type 2 High Hba1c result with good exercise/diet
