Newly diagnosed T1DM, 2 months on insulin therapy.. troubles with low blood sugar right before meal times and hypo treatments

I think a lot of it is down to holding your nerve... I had similar problems on diagnosis, and my honeymoon period went on for around a year and a half... it's now very stable which is excellent. You'll get a feel for how your sensors work... if I'm worried about falling rates, I have 2 or 3...

    Dexcom G6 - force a reading?

Your 'dots on a graph' will give you the date, time and reading for each dot if you touch them... turning your phone sideways, spaces them out and there should be the option to have the graph reading 3, 6 12 or 24 hours worth of readings.

Anyone else get wildly inaccurate Dexcom readings?

I tried the Dexcom One for a month and found it to be very poor, literally the only use it worked at was as a trend monitor. I was blood testing two or three times a day and then calculating the blood sugars myself. I can confirm that there is no calibration facility. That these sensors are...

    Type 1 Dexcom g7 accuracy?

Having slated the Dexcom One, which was only any use as a trend device. No calibration and no two days offset the same... on a 3 month sample it was dreadful. I've had better luck with the G7, bought 3 to try, 1 failed on day 8 (just drifted down to zero and never came back), but replaced with...

Dexcom One - What's it like in use?

Just a follow yp from my previous posts on this thread. The Dexcome One turned out to be a bit of a nightmare, being inaccurate with no way to calibrate. It stuck well, wasn't dreadful as far as connectivity was concerned, but was only useful as a trend device. I followed up by trying the...

Dexcom One - 3 month review

Rather than order another 3 months worth of the Dexcom One and have ordered 3 G7 sensors to try them... if they don't work well, I shall probably return to the G6 on subscription...

Dexcom One - 3 month review

I used the G6 for 2 years... you can calibrate the G6, via the app. I found that once in a while the G6 was reading high or low, but as long as the trend was steady you could take a couple of blood tests, 15 minutes apart and then calibrate the sensor to this figure; Sadly, the One doesn't...

    Changing my g6 cgm.....

I think it does, although not with every sensor. I still get the random readings on the odd sensor which, as you say, recover and then stay stable. This has happened with both the G6 and the One, that I'm trying to make up my mind about.

Dexcom One - 3 month review

This review almost 3 months after I cancelled my Dexcom G6 subscription. Dexcom One is the cheapest of the 3 CGM devices that Dexcom supply. It's their competitor for the Freestyle Libre, and operates aroung the same price point. The Dexcom One is basically the G6 with some of it's...

    Changing my g6 cgm.....

Not at all. You can change whenever you want. Just go to 'Stop Sensor' and follow the instructions for replacement. You can also fit the new sensor but not swap until the old one times out. I tend to put it on 4 to 6 hours before it's due... there's anecdotal evidence that the sensor is more...

How often do have to change all your ratios?

Mine change twice a year, luckily quite predictably. In spring my basal seems to rise by a few units... and at the start of winter drops a couple of units. I, occassionally, basal test, maybe twice a year, but generally use my waking number to confirm my basal is right. There's a caveat with...

    Dexcom g6

You can use Build Your Own Dexcom app. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScD76G0Y-BlL4tZljaFkjlwuqhT83QlFM5v6ZEfO7gCU98iJQ/viewform This reddit thread gives more info... I've never needed it myself, but there are a lot of people very happy with it. Hope this helps, Peter.

Dexcom One - What's it like in use?

Not sure if you're UK based, but how long did you wait for delivery after ordering? I have a month supply of G6 to use, I'm trying to gauge when to order... cheers.

    Libre 2 consistently 2.5 mmol/L low.

Apologies, my bad. I had to stop using Libre before the Libre 2 due to skin issues and didn't realise that this was a featrue. Currently using Dexcom G6.

    Libre 2 consistently 2.5 mmol/L low.

Are you allowing for the ten minute lag between actual blood sugar when you test with the fingerprick and the Libre, which uses interstitial fluid to measure? I've found, you should test finger, see what the reading on the Libre is ten minutes or so later to be properly accurate.

Dexcom One - What's it like in use?

The problem I have with that is that I haven't been near the hospital since I was diagnosed in 2014. I have an annual review with the GP and Practice Nurse and, luckily, my Type one is easily manageable with basel/bolus and my HB1AC has been around 5 every year since. I'll bring it up at my...

Dexcom One - What's it like in use?

I've just taken the plunge and cancelled my G6 subscription which finished in December. I have 90 days worth of G6 sensors and transmitters and will order the Dexcom One in the new year. My phone is now listed as compatible and the sales person I spoke to this morning reckoned that I'd see...

A sharp reduction in the dose of insulin

I'm male, diagnosed in 2014 and this happens to me twice a year. Diet is much different all year long but around March, start of the warmer weather, insulin needs fall. Basel drops to around 7 units a day and bolus halves as well.... around October it heads the other way back to 14/15 Basel and...
