Can sensor be placed on a paralyzed arm for an accurate reading?

I can't seem to find the answer... after scanning the patch, the sensor says to do a blood test. The sensor seems to have a place at the bottom to insert a strip, but no strips came with the prescription. Is this something I need to purchase separately? Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong...
