Kind of! I was on Facebook and it popped up and I looked at other diabetic forms and pages on fb and liked a few then this popped up :) and I was like ooooh! Why did I not think of trying fb pages first haha!

Haha! Well you're here now. It's the first thing I looked for when I was diagnosed

Well I was 7 when I was first diagnosed so kind of didn't have Facebook then haha! Never really thought of looking in fb for diabetes forums - wish I had sooner! But better late than never :)

I'm 26 been diagnosed type 1 two years next month... I'm far from perfect and could do with a sort of "sponsor" like in AA, someone I could ring and be like, hey, I need son chocolate, I'm having a bad day... And have someone who understands at the other end to talk me out of it! Hah

That sounds just what I need - however I'm going on a diet and new health regime - I hated seeing my consultant all they ever did was call me fat (and I have witnesses too) they didn't help! I now see my gp who specialises in diabetes and its alot better :) I have started eating a bit healthier - bit by bit rather than full on cutting things out- also starting walking more - invested in a pedometer :) and I'm joining my college gym - but it would be really nice to be able to speak to someone on a regular basis who also has diabetes...
Hope u don't mind me asking but were are you from? I'm from Manchester

I definitely agree with both of you! I'm very lucky, my best friend is a dietician with a particular interest in diabetes (even before I was diagnosed!) so when I'm having those moments I usually text her and we talk it out. It's great when I'm planning a hike or something and I want help with the snacks etc to avoid hypos. She's great!

Other than that this site does that too. I use it for everything, not just diabetes related!
