Hi K :), @Granny_grump_ everything was "Normal" and all Blood Tests except his HBA1C came back at 43 (pre-diabetic) I was present when his GP gave him all the Test Results and I pointed out about the HBA1C, and GP replied: 'There is nothing to worry about' = his Bloods will get checked in 6 months time. He is 5 ft 10inch tall and weighs 10 stone 4 lbs and can eat Biscuits, Cakes, Sweets and Chocolate like there is no tomorrow, and he eats these in front of me. I keep telling him to cut all that 'rubbish' out! His reply is: " GP said there's nothing to worry about" = end of subject. - I rest my case!! Wx:)
I'm very glad his results were all normal, William - that must be a huge relief for both of you. Now all you have to do is ban all the biscuits, cakes, sweets and chocolate from the house! :joyful: xx

@debrasue - Hi :). I rated your post a 'Funny' = because he is a naughty childlike person. I find wrappers under the car seat's and he tells me "they blow in on the breeze" !!???
(R buys them when out without me)
I was somewhat "annoyed" with his GP for saying there is nothing to worry about his HBA1C being 43.
2 years before (in 1998) I was officially diagnosed in 2000. My GP told me I was a "Borderline Diabetic" - it was when I attended One of those Diabetes Courses after my diagnosis to be told by the Specialist Diabetes Nurse = You either have Diabetes or You don't!
During those 2 years I could have done so much to prevent becoming Type 2. - W:).
@Granny_grump_ K - It just falls on deaf ears all my ranting to him, but It wouldn't be so bad if he only just 'shared a little' once in a while! :D

Yes, I agree. I feel much the same - I wish I had known 2 years ago what I know now. (And that's despite my dad having suffered from T2 after he reached his 60s - I never seriously thought I might be at risk.)
I think as a nation we simply don't place enough emphasis on education regarding the dangers of T2 and how to avoid it. Things are slowly improving in that respect, but most people still have the attitude that only the obese are at risk and it simply won't happen to them, so they can eat exactly what they like and don't have to worry about it.
I've lost count of the number of times I heard people say, "Oh, a little treat doesn't hurt you!" Well, yes it does, depending on how many of those "little treats" you are awarding yourself!
Naughty R. I think you'd better tell him that I have my eye on him now.... He should be afraid. Very afraid....

So, So True @debrasue :). I like the Picture = looks like an Headmistress from my old School Days!
Are you well in yourself? Haven't seen you posting a lot recently? Are you still recovering from your recent spell of Pneumonia ? Wx:)
Yes, I have that on the run I think now, William, thanks for asking. About ***** time too! :D I've not been posting a lot because work has been a bit manic lately, which is ridiculous considering I am supposed to be retired! I guess the world of commerce just can't survive without me, LOL! :joyful:
Anyway, after a couple of massive hailstorms it's been a beautiful, sunny afternoon here, the family are coming over to celebrate my daughter's birthday this evening, including those nutty TTs, and everything chez Debrasue is coming up roses!
I'm loving your FBGs lately too - excellent work! I hope you're managing to keep the pain under control, though...?
:)

Oh @debrasue You are going to have Fun with the 3 TT's today. Our little Florence is coming up 5 months old next week and she is so lovely - though throws a right paddy when she wants feeding! Luckily Mum is there with the milk on tap! (So to speak :)).
The Christening is on Palm Sunday (9th April) and the list of people coming to the House afterwards is getting bigger = 60 at the moment!!
Today and last night was in a wee bit of "ache'ness" but, it has turned cold. But, them Butec Transdermal Patches are like Gold to me - Certainly work wonders.
And I am being good and sensible with my Diabetes - but, think I will probably have a "slip up" = Soon!!!:D
We have a Bettys in York, but I prefer a "once-a-month" treat in W.P. Brown's. They do a Strawberry Tart that is 'just to die for' and will be going into Brown's Botha when Kathleen @Granny_grump_ and her Sister come to York.
I am pleased to hear you are well Healthwise, but you will still be needing to build your strength up. Have a fantastic Family Birthday Get-together this evening for your Daughter. William x:)

Thanks, William. We did have a lovely time, thanks, and the TTs were as crazy as usual - especially when it was time to blow out the candles. There was more spit than cake at the end of it all, I think! :p There was a silver lining, though, because it meant I didn't find it anywhere near as alluring a prospect after that, LOL!! (Although I did manage to scarf down a very small, relatively spit-free piece, just to be sociable..... :shy:
I can't believe that Florence is 5 months old already! Where did that time go? :wideyed:
I'm glad the Butec are working for you and I hope you all have a lovely time at Brown's Botha. Only one piece of strawberry tart, William....... xx

Hi @Granny_grump_ - I am replying to your post from the Fasting Thread and answering You on here :). (Do you enjoy getting your wrists slapped!!!)
After Friday's Hypo incident and Saturday Morning's Nose Bleed, I am back to being me. Hypo's knock a lot of "stuffing" out of me and usually take a day (or two) for me to get sorted. But, stayed out longer than anticipated on Friday and arrived home 2 hours later than planned.
Weather is glorious and going to remian so up and until Wednesday, so got lots of things to do and see at our leisure for Tuesday and Wednesday. Looking forward to it :D.

Hello everyone what a fabulous time my sister and I had in York Liam1955 and R never stopped talking and walking we all hit it of from meeting them at York station,we walk talked eat drank coffee had cake and loved it so much,it was fabulous meeting Liam what a great person he is and he and his partner showed us round York until 6 in the evening, and so knowledgeable about places, we loved it.
And we met Liam again next day to round off our time in York with more sites and shops, and cake and coffee, when Liam got us too the station to come home it was a sad time because we had a met up with a forum friend who otherwise may have never met had it not been for this diabetic forum site, so a big thank you to the forum you should all make a little effort to meet up and get to see all the people you chat with on here. It can change your lives for the better, and we hope to meet with Liam and partner again in the not too distant future. A Huge ThankYou Liam1955 and R : love you and leave you K
