It will be the same every time you av a medical as tney are gettin stricter by the minute I've been to see DVLA independent consultant and adnt enough readings dut to me Avin a procedure dun cus I cudnt take my insulin and forgot to mention this when I went but got to go and see one Nxt sat the first time when they lifted the ban for hgv drivers to drive on insulin they took yr own consultants word but all as changed this second time round so hopin I get my bk soon fingers crossed as Xmas day and boxin day I only tested the onceI was able to drive cars but not LGV until paperwork/medical sorted. It is a long process. I had to have medical with my own consultant and fill out paperwork but I still had to have another medical with DVLA appointed specialist because they don't consider your own consultant "independant". The nearest DVLA doc to me was well over an hours drive away. Hopefully, should be easier next time around. The medical wasn't easy either, I was questioned a lot on all DVLA guidelines regarding insulin/testing etc and he went through every single reading on my BG monitor for the last 3 months. Make sure you are aware of all DVLA rules prior to medical.
