Improving sleep

The eOGTT test readings are probably typical Reactive Hypoglycaemia.
The 3.1 reading after five hours is definitely a hypo. The overshoot of insulin is causing this.
Those results are very similar to mine.
The not so high spikes could be because your insulin resistance is good.
The hba1c is very good, similar to my last one. Normal!

I do believe the symptoms you are still getting are probably because you are not low carb enough, even a small spike will continue the symptoms.
The morning symptoms may be a small liver dump called Dawn phenomenon, my fasting, straight after getting out of bed is usually a couple of mmols higher than just before breakfast. Also until I've been walking around for at least five minutes with a cuppa of tea do I start to feel my energy and wake up properly.
I also believe that until you have gone lower carb, your sleep will improve but like me, I only get six hours usually, never more than seven! So persevere a little bit more.

As I have previously posted, you do need the fasting test.
It will eliminate other conditions.

Also finding that balance of food to your body's natural needs is very important.

Best wishes

I've had a phone call from my consultant to say that my lab results have confirmed RA!! So relieved to finally have a diagnosis after years of wandering about in the dark. When I explained I had been on a LCHF diet since June and was experiencing so much difficulty in staying balanced he suggested a trial of Acarbose, does anyone else know if this helps them or tried it? He said there were possible side effects.
Won't have to do the 72 hour fast just yet, see how I go.
Just had a really bad night as I didn't eat enough and at the right times yesterday, trying to get back on track and so looking forward to feeling better but don't want to get my hopes up.
Thanks

If it was me, I would try diet first and see how a couple of months of low carb fares!
I would read up on acarbose, it is not suitable for some.

Ask your specialist to have a look at sitagliptin, as I have seen videos on YouTube that has some success in U.S.. I have been on Sitagliptin for a few years now. And it does help.

Best wishes

I’m very confused by my readings. Even before I started these tablets my fasting glucose first thing was above 6 consistently? I never seem to be below 6 now and am often around 7/8 at bed time. Any thoughts please? Still waking every 2 hours even taking 3 Acarbose a day! Another couple of nights and I’m giving up on them. Feeling a bit down with it all, it’s such a struggle.

Personally I think that, having read up on Acerbose, it is not the right meds for our condition.
Because if like me you are literally carb intolerant, then the way this drug works is if you eat high carbs. Which is what we have to avoid.

I can see the reasoning but I don't believe it, it will only give you more side effects.

Please speak to your GP.

Thanks Lamont that’s exactly what’s been happening, going to start reducing it again tomorrow anyway, I’ve had another rough day and doubt tonight will be any better.
