I'm type 2 diabetic, with a host of other problems, liver transplant being the main issue which affects my diabetes, the anti rejection drugs play havoc with my blood sugars and appetite ( also sanity ) . One of the issues is getting the hospital and GP's diabetes professionals to look at the whole issue and not just the diabetes.

Hello, my name is Frances Presland, I live in the UK and I am in my late fifties. I was diagnosed with diabetes type 2 in the autumn of 2015. I appear to be a TOFI (Thin Outside Fat Inside), and I find that small things affect my blood sugar a lot. Just being a few pounds overweight or having a period of stress can have a big impact on my BG readings.

I am interested in fasting and one meal a day eating after reading The Complete Guide to Fasting by Jason Fung, and the Fast Five diet by Bert Herring, to see if these eating regimes can help resolve some of the problems I am seeing and actually let me become Boss of my metabolism - which is running rings round me at the moment!

hello, first time posting here, though have been reading these posts for some time now. i'm not sure what type I am any more, I was type 2, which went off suddenly. various tests later found cysts in my pancreas. had a lot of pancreas removed, spleen and gall bladder too. did start on insulin 1 month before surgery which made me feel so much better. have healed well so far, but been reading about all the different types of diabetes and am now confused. not sure i'm posting this in the right thread but i'm sure it can be moved if needed. I am a 59 yr old female with a new lease of life now, although I am still getting nagged about not overdoing it post surgery. ( op was beginning of june) will try and do the whole answers thing later.
