Fluid as a dried up billabong? I am finding it so hard to even picture that in my mind, but funny as hell. Welcome to the forum.

My mother is now French, but was originally from Australia. I have three uncles and countless cousins in the Sydney area.

    Now for something completely stereotypical!

Once a jolly swagman camped by a billabong
Under the shade of a coolibah tree,
And he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boiled:
"You'll come a-waltzing Matilda, with me."

    Chorus:
    Waltzing Matilda, waltzing Matilda
You'll come a-waltzing Matilda, with me
And he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boiled:
"You'll come a-waltzing Matilda, with me."

Down came a jumbuck to drink at that billabong.
Up jumped the swagman and grabbed him with glee.
And he sang as he shoved that jumbuck in his tucker bag:
"You'll come a-waltzing Matilda, with me."

    (Chorus)

Up rode the squatter, mounted on his thoroughbred.
Down came the troopers, one, two, and three.
"Whose is that jumbuck you've got in your tucker bag?
You'll come a-waltzing Matilda, with me."

    (Chorus)

Up jumped the swagman and sprang into the billabong.
"You'll never catch me alive!" said he
And his ghost may be heard as you pass by that billabong:
"You'll come a-waltzing Matilda, with me."

    (Chorus)

Hi Robbie Swan, I've been reading elsewhere about what's happening for you and your family so thank you for taking the time and energy to welcome me. I truly hope that things have improved for you all today and am sending positive thoughts and best wishes to you.

That's lovely thanks - and don't you have a beautiful singing voice.

I sing in choirs, but I don't think that song has ever been on the program. My mother and three Australian uncles can rev it up though.

Welcome on the forum, @yet_another_old_lady . I really like old ladies, especially when they're as friendly and witty as you are. We can never have too much of your kind on the forum! As I'm neither old or type2 (probably), nor a lady, really (although female(ish)), we don't have much in common, but I'm still looking forward to your future posts!
