There have been people on this forum in the past who have managed to improve their neuropathy by maintaing acceptable blood sugar levels. They did report that the pain got worse before it got better. This seems to be when the nerves are repairing themselves. Sadly, it does not seem to work for everyone.
Have a read through this article and you will see that neuropathies are not just confined to your feet, they can affect any part of the body.
