Hi Tracy

To apply for funding for CGM you need the support of your diabetes consultant, it requires some form filling and writing a statement of why/how you think a CGM would help you remain safe due to the loss of hypo awareness etc- at least this was how it worked pre CCGs. It isn't straightforward as there aren't any NICE guidelines for CGM use and has been said some areas don't fund them at all but if your CCG does consider funding and your team will support your request then it is worth a shot.

Thank you for your replys Spiker and donnellydogs, i will find out what the hospital have to say. It would be great if the CGM was funded. I honestley cant see why they don't fund CGM's by what i have heard they can be life savers for diabetics that have lost awareness and could surely save the NHS some money in ambulance and A&E for those who have servere hypos and need emergency care.
