Anyone eve had any accuracy issues??

I know no meter will be 100% bang on all the time however my meter is giving some funny readings. Tested just before lunch at my work, 2.9. I panicked as I didn't feel Hypo. Tested again straight away and it was 5.3.

Just tried my 2nd meter I have at home, readings of 4.6 and 5.4.......

Washed hands on both occasions. Used my right thumb for the 1st 2 tests and my left index finger for the 2nd tests.....

I could understand maybe up to 0.5% of a swing but surely no more than this??

Have you used the control solution to make sure your meters are both running within their set tolerances?

The very low reading is probably a poor quality blood sample. Finger prick samples are a mix of undetermined proportions of blood from arterioles, venules, capillaries, plus interstitial and intracellular fluids. Mostly the samples are OK but occasionally they are way out but at least when they are out, they are obviously out. It's not the meter, it's the blood sample.

I'm pretty sure you should not be using your thumb for finger prick tests, fingers and small toes are ok but not large toes or thumbs.
