my 6 year old has just been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes Im still in shock from it any advice would be appreciated.

Welcome @butterfly145 sorry to hear about your little one. How are they doing? Hopefully starting to feel lots better on insulin?
First bit of advice - make best friends with your diabetic nurses - they should be available to give you tonnes of support with a newly diagnosed type 1 child.
JDRF do a kids sack for newly diagnosed children - https://jdrf.org.uk/living-with-typ...eaflets/kidsac-pack-children-type-1-diabetes/ - have a little explore round their website for more stuff that might help you, family days etc.
Get yourself a copy of "think like a pancreas" - it's a great book as an introductory guide for things to be aware of when managing type 1.
If there's anything in particular you want advice on, ask your diabetic nurse first and also ask on the forum - lots of parents here who might have been through similar.

Hi my 6 year old daughter has just been diagnosed type 1 I feel very isolated from the world it's so hard to take in, it would be nice to talk to other parents in the same situation
Hi I am sorry to hear of your child's diagnosis, it can be a lot to take in and adjust to. You could ask at the hospital if you have any support groups in your area, or google it. Hi, my 5 year old daughter was diagnosed nearly a year ago and it's has been the hardest year of my life, I blamed myself and was constantly worrying but I found that as long as you take the advice from the diabetes nurses and try to take each day as it comes things get a bit easier, I found the more I got worked up got her upset and then her levels would go all over the place so I really make sure to be as calm as I can, good luck and any advice you need just ask
